Why do tier 1-4 waystones keep dropping in my tier 13+ maps?
Why in the world is this a thing?
If I'm doing tier 13, 14 and 15 maps, why would I ever want a tier 1-10 map to drop? I honestly can't think of a single good reason for this. I have +70% chance for waystones to drop a higher tier in my Atlas tree, yet 75% of the waystones that drop are pointless bullshit tiers I don't need. It makes absolutely no sense. If there is an honest to goodness reason why lower tier waystones need to continue dropping in high maps, at least change the percentage. Here's an example: Doing T13 maps: 60% of waystones that drop should be T13 25% of waystones that drop should be T14 or higher (improved by Atlas passives) 15% of waystones that drop should be lower than T13 Once you reach T15 maps, the percentages above could be converted to rarity or additional modifiers on maps rather than higher tiers. This would be a much better system than the illogical nonsense that's happening right now. Last edited by Blasphemous84#2190 on Dec 28, 2024, 11:41:47 PM Last bumped on Dec 31, 2024, 2:09:43 PM

Agreed, as soon as I reached t13 I've only found 1 waystone of equivalent level.
Everything else has been a maximum of t10, and not enough either to reforge them to higher, so I'm kinda stuck and no I don't want to trade for waystones which at least for the time being they are still part of my campaign since I haven't finished the questline, sorry I'm already trading for everything else (even if I don't really like it). I started getting t13 waystones when I was doing t8 and it's been going backwards since then to be honest. |

I think there should be 0 chance for a waystone to drop below the current tier you are on. They should be equivelant to, or higher, than the current tier map you are in when it drops. My friends and I, 4 of us, doing tier 15 maps and getting tier 2 waystones is a slap in the face. There is absolutely no use for a tier 2 waystone for 4 people already in and doing tier 15s. I am completely out of waystones that are even close to the current tier I am meant to be doing to progress. Trading of waystones, and quite frankly, having to spec my atlas points into higher tier waystones, is needless and boring to the point where I may walk away from this game.

Agreed.
What`s the point to have waystone under your current map lvl? |

" Not to mention that trading for them is a huge waste of time because I doubt people will sacrifice a portal for just one ex. The only thing I can suggest is looking for a nice, supportive community that helps you out in a pinch if necessary, and vice versa. My Hideout -> https://hideoutshowcase.com/hideout/show/2881 (PoE1)

Its good if you plan on starting a second char...
otherwise just filter them out |

In PoE1 there were mechanics that could be done to effectively block low level waystones / maps from dropping.
I believe introducing similar mechanics here would be great esp. for those without loads of MF or other forms of juicing. Note: I assume maps juiced to high heavens that has a boss "should" be able to sustain. I don't qualify as someone that knows though. Last edited by KingAlamar#4071 on Dec 31, 2024, 1:30:11 PM

That's right, use those tier 1's-4 to mass combine voltron and spend time doing that.

Very true. Map drops need a window for lower level maps like higher level map drops. So no map should drop more than say 2 levels lower than the current area imo, because running T15s and T1 maps dropping is dumb!

" To be honest I don't mind T1 maps dropping in a T15+++ map as long as someone without serious juicing can over-sustain T15 maps. After all the lower tier map drops can be filtered out with a loot filter. Note: I would prefer to be able to block "low level maps" and to get map equity to help sustain for characters that don't have loads of MF, aren't significantly juicing, etc. I'm not saying running "white" maps should self-sustain but if you have all the Atlas sustain nodes, run the maps rare with +200% waystone drop, etc. then you should be able to fairly easily sustain. YMMV. |
