Temple of Chaos seems to hard

Im new to POE and im liking the game so far,, its a nice good challenge, but now i am at the temple of chaos and im lvl 40.. i made it to stage 3 one time in like 5 tries. But this seems just to hard. I keep dying on that round where u have to survive, the modifiers are insane especially because every one u choose stays the whole 10 waves.

Do u have to do this? Or is there another way to get ur ascension points?
I might give it another go on a later level , any advice?

Leave it for now and return 10 levels later and it'll feel much easier.

I think, for the quest version, it is a bit too hard. Later in the game (this is content you can choose to farm in endgame, it has unique drops) it's fine as it is.

You can do Sekhema again, but you will need to get a token that offers 2 floors and it will be harder. I don't think those drop until around level 50. Also, unlike the first time (with the quest token) you don't get unlimited tries, it's one try per token.

Or, and it's what I've done on all my characters, just level up some more and come back later when you're stronger/better gear.

In general, those 2 ascension points aren't going to make or break your build or experience through the acts. So, there's no harm in returning later.

Edit: For your 3rd and 4th set of points you can do either of the trials. In the future, when the other 3 acts are released, there will be a 3rd option.

I recommend the "chicken sh!t" approach ... before you start the timer look around the map & try to find a somewhat out of the way corner that you can hide out in.

As soon as you hit the timer book it to your corner. Kill anything that gets too close but stay in your corner if possible.

As long as you don't run around and draw attention you'll [usually] only need to kill 4-5 monsters every 10 seconds or so. The idea is to try to keep from getting swarmed!!!


More advice:
1. Come back later. IIRC I left BOTH my first and second ascension alone until I was in A2 Cruel. You'll have better skills, more passives, more "everything" required to trivialize the content.

2. If you are a "melee" class get the best melee weapon you can get. This usually means going to the trade site. FYI: I generally recommend doing this roughly once per act when you're about to fight the end-of-act boss. The boost of damage REALLY helps.

3. As for which "mods" be careful what you pick. While some mods like "a blood ball follows you and does physical damage when it falls" isn't bad as you usually have time to dodge it. On the other hand mods like "Monsters always crit" ; Monsters have extra damage as Chaos ; Corrupting blood turret ; petrifying statues ; etc. can be run ending as you'll take too much damage that you probably can't recover from.

Agreed. I left some other information but coming back later ... esp. if you just got some upgrades from trade that matches your new L50+ character and it will be fine.

Its funny, my Infernalist summoner literally walks through all 10 waves of this wihtout any concern at all, has done since the mid 80's. Gear is a big factor here too tho. Usually if you are struggling on the waves one then your clear is not high enough. This is a sign that you may need to either look at your build or gear.

A lot of my other toons struggle with this. I am on the fence about it I think some of the mods need to be tuned down and yet there need to be MORE modifiers that impact other aspects as well.

if you play ssf (even softcore but you can trade for it so it's less painfull) i would advice to keep your low lvl sanctum and chaos key as long as you don't feel confident you can make it bc if you don't have spare keys the one you will loot later will be at a higher lvl. If you don't rush it and use key with min lvl requierement it's easy to get 6 ascendancy point, last 2 are harder but advice stay the same use key with the min lvl requierement.

Are you logged in on the same account on both the trading site and in PoE?

O god apparently i had another account so my char is on the wrong account.... now im f*cked unless they can transfer the char to my main account or something
