What the fuck is the point of on death effects?

The point of the on death effect is to show you that they have sadist developers in the company who hate their customers, you didnt understand that? and oh yeah. the giant wall of loot covering the on death effect. is by design to give a spicy ..l.. to you but heres a <3 from me

There are some interesting on-death effects (new ones) and AoE ground degens, and in moderation, they are a neat part of the game...but for the most part, in their current state of ubiquitous presence, they feel tedious and unreasonable.
As such, they seem like a developmental last resort following failure to design monsters & monster mod/abilities that pose truly interesting, balanced challenges. On death effects should go. From POE1 and POE2. If thats only thing to keep killing bots and op builds maybe they should be focusing on those parts and dont make game unfun. Nerf OP builds and find other way to fight bots.
