Gearing up, portal gone

Make portals 30m minimum.

15m portals is a jerk move.

If you are taking 15 minutes to gear thats more a of you issue than a game issue, it's always been 15 minutes even in poe1. ive never taken more than 5 in my 1k+ hours in poe1 and the 400 in poe2

FU. Some people are slow. 15 is too short to gear up and stuff, this is a fact, not a debate. Measly 15m portals make the game suck.

Don't need your crap in my thread, jerk.

Uh, tone it down there, first off. That was a pretty tame response, you don't need to be an ass about it. They may have been blunt, but they are completely right.

Secondly, they are kind of right. Unless you are trying to do some theory crafting on the go, TPing back to town to clean up your inventory, take advantage of a level up to get a gem skill increase, or any other number of reasons should not take you that long. Instances are around 15 minutes on purpose, as any longer and going back to farm X boss or Y zone would be too prohibitive.

Some advice? Use your stash. You shouldn't be spending every TP back home completing redoing your build and gear, stash what you've got, return to your zone, and then when you're at the next waypoint / map clear / whatever, then take care of your accumulated items.

response was provoking and it was intentional to get OP angry. portals can poof after 5min sometimes. and this is feedback. you both should keep this attitude for reddit

Nah, it's alright for older players who know things and don't need time to analyze and think, for any new players it's a suckerpunch. And even if GGG doesn't want to extend the time, a warning popup or something would be nice while you are in town that your portal/zone is going away soon.

I don't have the issue anymore but back in PoE1 I've had a few instances where I lost my portal.
finish the map, then gear up.
15min is enough time to do trading and get back to map or gear up and get back to map.
15min is enough to restart pc on hdd and load game and get back to map.
If you need to afk - there is a pause while in a map.

The fact people are able to run multiple instances of same/different locations per character and each of them lasts 15min after they leave... Imagine how it affects servers' performance. 15 min is more than enough.
There shouldn't be a time limit if my TP is up. It's a mechanic only in this game, and it is unexpected for people coming from any similar game. Another awkward mechanic for POE vets.

You are slow and that is all, don't open a map if you are not ready for it. 15mins is sufficient time to do everything you need.

I can think of dozens of situations off the top of my head where someone would portal out of a map to go do something for more than 15 minutes before resuming the map. There is no reason for the portal to even expire in the first place outside of server drain perhaps.

Having 30 minutes before you lose your portal is a completely fair thing to have.
