No Color-blind Mode? Really?
Honestly, really disappointed in Jonathan's response to the question about a color-blind mode. That's nice that you want to design your game to address R/G color-blindness so there's no need for a color-blind filter, but there are other types of color-blindness (not to mention other accessibility considerations) that exist. His response gives the impression that accessibility options won't be appropriately considered because he doesn't like them.
Aside from the other issues that were brought up in the QA and dismissed because Jonathan "doesn't like them", his opinion on whether he likes accessibility options doesn't matter. It's not for him. It's for the people that need it. Worrying how that subject is being treated. Last bumped on Jan 12, 2025, 8:34:25 PM

I cannot for the life of me understand why Jonathan Rogers has such a sincere disdain for accessibility options in settings. Options are one of the easiest devices to make all parties in the player-base happy.

GGG doesn't care about accessibility issues at all based on their prior responses even before today. I don't know why people thought they'd suddenly start caring now. Asking one member of staff to review if issues affect them personally is not a substitute for actual accessibility features.

How do colorblind people even still exist? You guys didn't get eaten by tigers or something?

" You're wrong. In the podcast today they said they will never work on a colour-blind mode but they will try and make the game more accessible. It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp. |

" They said they'd have one dev with colorblindness look over one specific content area and see if it's a problem for that one dev. Basically, we were told that if you have color blindness (like my brother does) to go play a different game because GGG doesn't care about you. Color blindmess modes remove nothing from them as devs but they make the game infinitely more playable for people with color blindness. And no, having someone manually review things one by one isn't enough to support every person with color blindness. |

Oh I agree it is a horseshit response and they should do better.
