Thoughts about the interview?

Even as a HCSSF player, I prioritise Rarity over Resistances, because otherwise I couldn't even farm gear upgrades, even during campaign.
Which is a terrible state IMO.

And I don't really care about getting Omens or Essences.
I want a deterministic crafting system.
Give us a crafting bench.

I don't want to play gacha.

you have runes, so you can put resist or hp or mana or whatever on the bit of gear like a bench mod.

poe1 did not have crafting bench on launch either, or essences, or fossils, vaal orbs, annuls, eldritch currency, warlord currency, awakened orbs, eternals, locks, catalysts, oils, harvest, crucible blh blah blah...

they did mention this in the interview. every 3 months something new is going to be added after launch, most of the crafting systems in poe have been added over time and its going to be the same with poe2.

drop rates are not nerfed because of rarity.

you should want omens and essences because they give you a lot of agency in crafting, they are what crafting should be about.

im playing ssf i find and craft upgrades without much rarity at all. but having rarity be a valuable stat that works in terms of making you find more valuable items is intended and a good thing.

i dont think the crafting system atm is in a good place at all, it needs significant changes. and they will make significant changes. and then they will add a new crafting system, and another, and another, and eventually the game will get to a point where the crafting is stupidly powerful and its way too much. just like poe1, cause thats how a 3 month league model works.

i get that you are frustrated but dont worry about it too much, you will get a bench, you will get metamods and influence currency and all sorts of insane stuff as the game progresses.

xp will get faster, player power will creep in all directions, weve been here before. they release in the most nerfed, restricted possible configuration because it feels really bad if you have to take things away from people. they start by giving us not enough and then add until its right.

and then keep adding and adding and adding because 3 month hype cycle demands it and the game will eventually get crazy, it will get too much.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

they just dont agree with the people who think magic find shouldnt exist. thats their take on that one issue, it doesnt apply globally to any subjective take. they said many things like ascendancy respecs where mark is "nope i dont think it should be a thing" jonathan said "im 55% leaning towards it should be a thing" and mark admitted it wasnt a hill he was gonna die on, maybe it would be ok.

in poe1 we have had xp penalty forever. in poe2 theres no penalty in the campaign. theyre open to changing their minds on core assumptions in the design, they just need convinced of them.

i agree with them on rarity i think theyre right. so if they listen to you and remove it that means theyre not listening to me.

First they need to fix their servers both latency and synch problems. 2nd they need to adress their game engine usually bottlenecks / choppy play which is not nice. People still crushing or freezing.

Xbox & Ps5 also suffers the same thing which means both problems are on their end.

If game is about to become poe1 like which i don't like , its ok eventually i paid like 25-30bucks. I ll pass and play another game.

The first thing they need to adress their crappy servers and game engine. Rest can be done later.
all i really wanted was easier access to boss content, which will come. i thought their answers were measured and the interview was pretty amazing. in an ideal world they flesh out the systems a lot more. the shell of sekhema and expedition for example are amazing but i feel it could use a lot more tuning and expansion on the mechanics. but theres different player types in this game and i really dont want to play vampire survivors with extra steps, im looking for, ideally, challenging gameplay. but even if they dont change a lot, i still greatly appreciated this game for hundreds of hours.

glad to read this from someone else. i keep saying this too. you have to release in the most unsatisfying state possible because people unrelationally dislike, if they lose something, they already had been given. also appreciate your point about power creep being inevitable. lastly, the game is released as a shell with all the content but without the numbers tweaked. they will adjust the numbers to make it great, or least they will try and i have trust from all i have seen.

now, i think this game already has too much power in vanilla but thats a different issue and i suspect it doesnt represent the population well.

How do you come to this conclusion

This isnt a either/or issue.

There is a happy middle ground to be reached, but GGG seems content with keeping things how they are, and then there are those who you mention, who feel it shouldnt exist.

It can exist, but adjusted to be more practical, fun, and less restrictive.
Disaster honestly. Nothing concrete - no dates, no patchnotes, no nerfs to most op stuff, Elon rmt'ing in public not addressed. No temporalis nerf, no howa nerf, no stat stacking nerf, no spark / archmage / pconc / bell / vine arrow nerf, dupes not addressed, people who got their accounts hacked didn't receive any compensation help or even news about their situation. Like what was this interview even about? i don't get it.

You know what, reading that was genuinely encouraging.
Thank you.
I don’t think they have a clue how bad the Warrior class is and don’t have a clue how to fix them.

It was a bit shocking to me
