why is the "vison" so focused on end game ?
im sure im gonna get the "skill issue, get gud" comments for saying this frankly i can care less i cant possibly be the only person that feels this way.
as some one whos played poe 1 since its infancy i feel as if nothing from path of exile 1 with its 12 year almost reign that when you logged off after a hard grind and said " wow i finally got it (oni goroshi grind as a example) you actually wanted to keep pushing the limits of a build you WANTED to see what was possible with a certain class now it feels like all of the overall focus is on endgame it feels like all of the so called vision is being put into the endgame content yeah i get it ya don't want the endgame to be like diablo 4 where ya hard lock at a certain point and have literally nothing to do but make another char to even have a chance in hell at a challenge but what I don't see is any one talking about the level of difficulty it is to make a build from the ground up starting with next to nothing whether it be ssf hc or standard soft core to even get to maps in the first place reses are far harder to get capped by the time you hit cruel if your lucky you can cap them but without rarity's?(which seemingly doesn't do jack shit till at least act 2 crule? and till that point is as useless as a screen door on a submarine) your not going to acquire the needed currency to make the build you want and are stuck more times than not farming a area thats lower than your characters level trying to either find a item that will help? or drop currency to buy the item you need to make the build work at least a little better but lets put all of the overall focus on the endgame content and not make it a little easier for people to actually get to maps in the first place... I think this patch is focused on endgame, because it has a lot of issues. Doesn't mean they're abandoning the rest of the game in my opinion.
Also the balance at the moment is all over the place, so some builds suck. In my opinion if you're stuck try a build that's in a good place, the experience is much smoother that way (but surely give your feedback). |

Most people think the campaign is the best part of the game and that is because it is the most challenging and well paced part of the game. Just started a fresh ssf character last weekend and my experience does not corralate with the things you complain about at all. Maybe the first days of the EA was like that but i think it is fairly easy to get a character going to be able to reach maps. You really dont need fully capped resistances unless you are playing HC and if you are playing HC it is kinda self inflicted problem at that point. I died only 4 times till lvl 75 and was playing with uncapped resistances well into the endgame.
Also they are focusing on the endgame because most people are at that part of the game currently. It is a nobrainer like what were they supposed to do? They also implicitly stated that there are even more changes coming that are not being talked about in yesterdays video. I am sure there will be more improvements to the campaign as they keep working on it but it is certainly not as dire as you make it sound it to be. |

still wondering why dev tried so hard to pull POE 2 to be a straight copy of POE 1 on endgame content, while the first 3 act gameplay is what make the game unique.

I completely agree with your sentiment. I watched Raxx's video this morning on the 0.1.1 patch and my very first thought was, "What? All endgame stuff?"
I'll be lucky if I ever get to the endgame. I get people like souls and elden ring. But there are lots of players, like me and I assume you, that don't want that level of difficulty and have to spend so much time rolling. I feel like the bosses are too hard. I get not making it a face roll but I will only bang my head against a boss so many times before I have to just stop. It is not fun for me at all. (yeah yeah, get gud, whatever). I will just say I was really looking forward to this game and I am still suffering through it. But that is the key "suffering through". Eventually I am going to hit the wall and give up. Not sure if that is what GGG is going for. I would think they want to expand their playerbase. Not sure you are going to do that with the current state of the game. Oh, did I mention loot? Drops suck. I am not replacing gear as I would expect and all the crafting is so RNG that it is baffling to me. I think they needed to address the campaign and they didn't. I hope they do before I just can't take it anymore and quit. ~~Born to walk against the wind, born to hear my name. No matter where I stand, I'm alone~~

Because the end game is where people spend the majority of their time if they're going to keep playing after the campaign. From a business perspective, every hour of game play you can convince a player to stick around, is a chance that they'll spend more money on stash tabs and cosmetics. People that stop playing after campaign don't have much need for more than a few stash tabs, end game grinders often have dozens. People that only play the campaign are less likely to spend as much on cosmetics as the people that play hundreds of hours a league. After EA the game will be free, and I bet compassion enjoyers aren't going to buy cosmetics most ladies. GGG is a business, with shareholders, so they focus their effort in the areas that they've determined will have the best fiscal returns.
