" The issue was it had no new challenges, and really no new content to interact with (besides the fact that was months ago). It basically gave you more loot, which is cool and all but not enough incentive to do settlers over again. Now, let's take Necro settlers as a starting point. Let's go along with the idea that GGG can't afford to hire people for some weird reason and they can't really devote resources. Alright, just turn on Scourge for example. Now you have an interesting mechanic to toy with late game that can enable new builds, so at least something different to interact with. Then you do the most important part, you do new challenges and rewards. In previous one month leagues they just did palette shifted armour MTX sets. Quick and easy. Now is that a real fix? No, but it would show they cared somewhat and beat the heck out of joining and event just to get a fresh reset. At least you'd have new engage goals (scourge a bad ass enchanted item) and new challenges. GGG won't do that though because they don't want people playing POE 1... |

" Imagine being a dev there. For sure it must be fucking nightmare to work right now. Sure they non leaders at GGG would love that people plays both games but no :) We should just start calling GGG as tencent since its a disgrace to call company GGG anymore | |
" They don't want people playing POE1. They want people to beta test POE2. Next league will be in Q1 2026 and will be worked on by whoever they can get to do it on their lunch break in between POE 2 stuff. |

" Your "truth" comes from a guy who just came from literal nowhere and flamed the company Yeah, the post likely does come from someone from the inside, and yeah, GGG did made the staff migrate from poe1 to poe2(its literally in the video), but what makes you think it automatically means everything on it is undisputed truth? You must be a teen who dont know how the world works if you never saw something like that before, happens every time when a grunt bash heads with someone and make a post randomly talking half-truths and using it to accuse important people of being greedy or unethical or what have you, he does on social media because he cant confront people directly. Its bad form and talks more about the guy posting it than about the guy being talked about GGG was simply incompetent. Too incompetent to handle more than one game at once and in the past, too incompetent to make good on the promise that poe2 woudnt interfere with poe1. And now, too incompetent to keep some staff on the game making money instead of going all in on a game with an uncertain future. Its basic common sense to not jump to malice when incompetence is a good explanation Im still waiting for someone to explain to me where is the financial gain anyone gets by burying poe1 for poe2 And for the record, look at the post you are shielding: Kid comes and starts calling how the sky is falling and talks about the "realistic" take not addressing any of the points, if thats not bait, i dont know what it is, you think its a reasonable post by any metric, youre also not terribly sharp Last edited by feike#6684 on Feb 1, 2025, 11:52:45 AM

The halting of poe1 development would have happened even if the team wasn't needed for poe2. They don't want hype around poe1 while poe2 is in EA (pay to play). If you can't see the benefits of the goal you should stop asking.

" Not splitting community means more customers for PoE2. Not splitting dev teams means more patches (hype) for PoE2. If PoE2 is going to have leagues, there is no way to reasonably time them with PoE1. If they're launched at the same time, both games will cannibalize each others' profits; if they're launched with too little time in between, players won't have enough time to take a breather from the game and will burn out far faster and if there's too much time in between it'll be no different than what Settlers is right now. Streamers can't hype up both games simultaneously. PoE1 demands a dev team that primarily consists of devs experienced with the game due to how much bloat the game has. Rather than having two different teams working for one game each, they've made the mistake of pulling PoE1 team to PoE2. Now both games share the same experienced dev team and you can't pull off a sizable number of experienced devs from PoE2 and replace them with new devs without it affecting PoE2's development. PoE2 has more players (aka potential customers) than PoE1. If they can retain current PoE2 player numbers with the occasional big patch/league spike, the game will absolutely be financially worth putting all the effort in and throwing PoE1 to garbage pin (in really real reality this is not going to happen, but hey, they thought they could launch 3.26 by February without having a single dev working on it, so...) Less negative publicity from the fans of the old game. Once PoE1 is done and dusted, the negativity will largely disperse. As long as there's a chance for the old game to still get patches, the voices of discord will be heard loud and clear. This is a stain on the shining PR image GGG hopes for PoE2 to have. |

" Money can't buy what he lost. And since we are just making things up, then how's the plausibility of this: One of the multiple compromised admin account incidents managed to infect part of their systems with ransomware and director Jonathan refused to pay. Luckily, they recovered from this setback by using a 2018 backup found on the janitor’s laptop. |
