Bye Bye GGG
Good-bye GGG. I’m outa here for now. That video just sounded like corporate speak for, “we are trying to quietly kill development of this game(PoE1) and move on to the sequel so would you all please shut up about it”
When you announce that PoE2 would be a separate game, you promised that you would keep up development of PoE1 side by side. You have failed to keep this promise. Its entirely possible that you’re actually telling the truth and 3.26 will just be delayed. But in keeping with how development usually works, most of us assume that once 0.2 is done then 0.3 will have issue that delay 3.26 again, repeated for 0.4, 0.5 and even going to 1.0, 1.1, etc. In other words PoE1 is development is dead. So I’m gone. Not forever that would be stupid. But I won’t be back in 0.2, nor if 3.26 ever comes out. I’ll be back when you either prove that you can keep your word of dual development of 1 and 2 or when you finally come out and say that PoE1 is dead forever and you quit stringing along its player base with lies. Is this a boycott? Well technically yeah. But just me. I know it doesn’t matter to you. You’ve got my money, lots and lots of it, and your player count being just one person lower that I could be is less than nothing to you. But I’m petty like that. GGG you’re not in danger (yet) of turning into Blizzard, but you are in danger of turning into Peter Molyneux, and that isn’t a compliment. Last bumped on Feb 1, 2025, 10:22:22 AM

A senior guy just gave a detailed update, and I thought it was very transparent. I can tell there's a lot of frustration on their end. They communicated clearly with the fan base and delivered their message well.
People might not like the message, but GGG has been clear—nobody is in the dark. They have a recently released game with problems but immense potential. PoE1 is fantastic, and I’m a fan, but it's not the company's future. It’s now an old game, almost vintage. Investing in it at the risk of PoE2 doesn't make sense. GGG has done a great job communicating and managing expectations. I'll continue to rant about the things I don’t like in the game, but I have to give credit when GGG comes through. To be honest, I didn't like that he referred to PoE2 as "This damn game." It felt unprofessional. If I were in sales, I would have given him a gentle reprimand for that. 😊 You can tell they are stressing. GGG Chill, do it right .. don't be reactionary. " If only all forum users would be as inteligent as this guy, world would be 100x better place. |

I'll see you in queue when 3.26 launches

" It's an "old game" because GGG decided to separate them, rather than bringing PoE 1 up to modern standards. They had a solid base game to build from; they could have used that to give us a PoE 1 Remake (!) with balance overhauls, but no, their ambitions were far too high and ultimately got in the way. Suffering from success is what that is. Gaming PC: Win 11, 7600X3D, RTX 4080, 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30, 7000 MB/s SSD, 850W, 3840x2160p 120Hz
Streaming PC: Win 11, i5-12400, RTX 4060, 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36, 7000 MB/s SSD, 450W, 1920x1080p 60Hz |

" Honestly they mentioned more than often enough that POE1 simply went into the wrong direction of what they expected. So instead ruining a still function-able and loved game, they started fresh with something different to what they had before. lol And respectfully even while the game is a decade old, thanks to multiple enhancements and patches the game is still holding up really well to modern standards, so I don't know what you are talking about. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

" Ask the guy I responded to who used that wording. Don't put words in my mouth. I used quotation marks for a reason. Edit: I guess you meant me using "modern standards". PoE 1 is not modern. Wisdom and portal scrolls are an outdated mechanic, so is the portal approach for everything else. Crafting is archaic and mostly RNG. And those are just 2. See you next week along with the other ragers who can't stop posting.

" They do so because they care about PoE1. Unlike you who only care about trolling. |

" It's an old game because there's been a lot of time since it released. Old games don't stop being old games when you overhaul them, they will always be old games. Most old games also have foundations that are impossible to entirely overhaul without putting in more effort and ending up with a worse result than you would if you just start over from scratch. Which is why most overhauled old games feel like the same old game but with a new coat of paint. That would 100% be the case if they tried to overhaul PoE1, because that's literally how PoE2 started: as an attempt to overhaul PoE1. The reason PoE2 was started from scratch is because PoE1 cannot easily be brought up to modern standards - because it is an old game. Last edited by MarsAstro#7928 on Feb 1, 2025, 6:12:54 AM
