What it would take for GGG to get this POE1 player back?

I haven't logged in POE2 in at least 2 weeks except to maybe toy with a merc but I didn't even make it past clearfell before my bitterness and disappointment caused me to log off. I have been vocal about my position but perhaps I should provide my suggestions

Now before we go on, lets address what 40 flamers are going to say below before they say it. They will say, "POE2 has more players so POE1" either "must suck" or "is too complicated" or "is too zoomy" or whatever. The reality is that POE1 had a smaller marketing budget than my kid's lemonade stand whereas POE2 has a huge marketing budget. POE2 is far more “zoomy” than POE1. One can play Righteous Fire through all POE1 content without zooming once. In POE2 if your build doesn’t clear 2 screens away you die instantly and don’t get another try. POE2 also copied 90% of its systems from POE1 so any complexity is the same.

So what would they need to do to get this player back?
1. Nerf the screen clearing power builds that dominates the endgame. The builds should feel powerful at VERY late game but not ridiculous.
2. Nerf the enemies in endgame because currently if you don’t have a zoom build you just die ... a lot.
3. Restore the notion of being able to use all of your portals in a map. If you die, it costs you a portal. If people want to play one death per map that could be a league setting.
4. Bring back deterministic crafting. The POE2 crafting system is a slot machine. Integrate the POE1 crafting into POE2. I would like to see harvest back in the game and the crafting bench come back. One affix per item being deterministic shouldn’t be too much to ask .
5. Change the endless map to be like delve. There should be a direction to go, maps should be stronger the further you get from the initial point rather than waystones.
6. Ditch waystones and restore scarabs to the endgame and let players craft on scarabs.
7. Restore Harvest to the endgame.
8. Shrink all map zones by 50% minimum and re-evaluate all of the layouts with a mind to NOT NEEDING checkpoints anymore.
9. Restore map bosses to all maps. They don’t all have to be pinnacle bosses.
10. Change the least played skills to make them viable. Currently only 4 or 5 skills per class are usable.
11. Restore popular POE1 skills like Righteous fire and molten strike.
12. Put in damage caps for DPS on bosses so they canty be one shotted by silly OP builds.
13. Change the gem cutting system. You should be able to buy an uncut gem from a vendor that can be cut with level restrictions. If you run out I have 5 million of them in my inventory you can have.
14. Fix the gem support system to not allow 50 6 links. For example, tie the number of supports to the SLOTS rather than gems and give the first 2 slots 6 supports and the rest 4 supports based on level by endgame.
15. Allow me to use a support gem in multiple skills.
16. Fix the passive tree so that you don’t have to burn as many points to reach other parts of the tree. Right now its psycho to go around the tree and do nonstandard stuff.
17. Add nodes to the passive tree to make life builds viable.
18. RESTORE THE POE1 ATLAS TREE. If I want to do Delirium every map I should be able to do so. This means dump towers and restore the tree. If you want to keep towers, fine but they should only reveal nodes to find cities, pinnacle bosses and so on. DELVE IS A MASTERPIECE. If you merged delve and the atlas the engame would be a work of art.

I bought the most expensive pack for POE2 and I have trusted GGG in the past. I hope they do at least some of this. Then those POE1 players will be ecstatic and come back to POE2.

buddy, i agree on some of your points and POE2 need some tweaks here and there. But after reading your whole post, it gives me the feeling that you want poe2 to turn into poe1.

What's funny is that OP wants RF back - but RF in POE 1 was one of the most broken bonkers OP builds you could do.

Also, I hated Delve.

Ok got a video of an RF build that clears mobs 3 screens away like herald of ice does in POE2? I would be interested to see it. Even if it exists I bet it cost like a thousand divine which means it would be SUPER LATE league and that is fine with me.

POE2 is POE1 lite already. And its already got a lot more problems than POE1. So if you are worrid about it being "turned into POE1" you are a lot late ... 5 years late. Its supposed to be a successor to POE1 and better. And it, indeed, resembles POE1 in more ways than you acknowledge. Its just that some of the changes they made were bad ideas.

Clear speed wasn't really the point of RF and you know it. The fact that you could just stand there against the Ubers was the point.

Just because you couldn't offscreen mobs doesn't mean the build didn't trivialize the entire game.

RF has been eating nerf after nerf in PoE - when/if it comes to PoE2, I'm sure you'll hate it as much as I hate what Arc is today...
At their average rate of fixing one issue per week, I don't know if they can retain POE1 players. I only know that they will soon lose non-RMT players from POE2.

If they do that the game will be dead and so will POE1 because they have sacrificed it for this one. So I dont think a corp is going to do that unless it is interested in folding up shop and going away which would be a huge financial blunder.

First of all I haven't logged in in weeks so dont know what Arc is doing.

Second of all I don't know ANYONE that suggests RF as a great ubers farming build.
I didn't think I would disagree with every single one of your points, but I do.
