lol... Why call it crafting? It's just gambling.

Maybe they should add another table for the Gambling part.
Crafting table for the converting an item into a different type and then a Gambling table for adding prefix/suffix, etc that you will never know what will it be. In this way, when you go to the Gambling table, you already have a mindset that you are about to gamble your currency and items. |

yes , im currently sittingg at 3.1 k hours in this game , i only managed to " craft some lets say half a mirror items like couple of times . im a master at the game buy farming currency to " craft anything " take simply to much time . the items i managed to craft took like weeks of farming currency , trading , playing the game , etc . the crafting in this game is 90% gambling , the only think i can say i can consistently craft , even thou extremly time consuming is rf jewels for rf . the rest is simply gamblign , i agree with you , gambling and having lots of currency to hit the gambling . why do you think there dozens of videos with crafting projects with like 30 mirror budget ? mirrors ?> brother the most valuble thing i ever dropped in this game was a seven years of bad luck card.in 3.1 k hours .

and dont listen to the other noobs here who defend the game for this . they are wrong stocholm syndrom disesased people . i totaly agree with you that ggg is basicly doing gambling mecanics which should be legislated . even the most basic 2-3 t1 mods or 4 t1 mods the one you want its tens of hours of playing the game , and thats just for one item . i like the game , but basicly after 3.1 k hours only the shield is what i have created , the rest is just bought by farming the game , horading or flipping the markets .

" Maybe it "implies" it, but does in no way, shape or form guarantee it. Take pottery, for instance. Is it considered "crafting"? Sure it is, but I can guarantee you that if you or me tried to do our best, the pot would still turn out crap. Why? We did our best, right? Or maybe, just maybe we're lacking in knowledge and execusion? --- If you have enough currency and knowledge, the amount of "gambling" involved is reduced to a miniscule amount. Lets say you spent 11 mirrors "gambling" your way to a mirror worthy, perfect weapon. Would you be OK if that process was 100% guaranteed - but still cost 11 mirrors? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" I don't mean to be rude, but this is an extremely bad logical fallacy. Is gacha not gambling then? You can theoretically argue that " .... But gacha IS GAMBLING. Your bad pottery results is not "gambling" nor rng, but it's guaranteed, due to the lack of skill. There is not even a 0.01% chance that you will turn out a masterpiece if you haven't learn and practice it. Meanwhile with proper skill, practice and knowledge, you don't have to slam 100 tries to hit a decent result, it is pretty much guaranteed. There is nothing hard in poe crafting, it's just tedious and extremely frustrating because it is gated with low percentage like 1/150 gambling chance to get a certain affix and then multiply it by 6 affixes etc. Slam a 1/150 chance for an affix, do it on 2 item, then put it in recombinator for 1% chance of success, repeat till you get it. Is that skill? Is that hard? No it's super tedious designed by GGG to entirely waste your time. People who have spent too much time crafting in poe(that includes me) has a very skewed perspective on crafting when there is no other game that makes you waste this much time on crafting by putting in extreme amounts of gambling mechanics behind it. |

Any, and i repeat ANY game that has a range of loot drops is all a gamble at it's core.

" I agree; it's about knowledge and investment. I have never played a game where crafting is "hard". Have you? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Feb 18, 2026, 11:09:01 AM

drops are useless
crafting is opening loot boxes. It's just loot boxes, no skill at all . roll the dice. Last edited by LewtDeezNuts#1011 on Feb 18, 2026, 11:30:08 PM

" Ok, it should be obv why that is wrong even though in the end it comes down to gambling. THe question is how often can one turn the wheel in a certain amount of time. There are players who kill exarch and eater in 5 hours, lmao. All the knowledge in the world about this game doesn't help you if your brain doesn't process information fast enough or your hand eye coordination doesn't allow for such fast play(which is 99,x% of all people, lol)... And most certainly luck won't help you. Luck helps you in trade league if you just open an Apothecary day 2 and you can afford everything you want for now, instead of having to grind Heist for your first few divines or whatever farm you prefer, lol.
