You should go back and watch the setups for the early PoE 1 races with the point tier system.
So every player could get rewarded for participating. As it stands, there is no reasone for anyone beside the top players to do this since the rest will not be able to keep up for a chance at the 1 reward. Nice to add more content to enjoy! But just kindly redo the reward structure to what you had in the past and it will be just fine :) Cant have to much Junk in your Stash

Why are you actively trying to harm PoE 1 numbers by releasing a PoE 2 event 2 weeks after the first new content for PoE 1 in 7 months?

So what you're saying is that the expectations that the rushed PoE1 event would delay 0.2.0 is absolutely what is happening. Or, it just so conveniently happens that it is "ready" right around the time that event ends, right?
And this "event" you do for PoE2, instead of what it should be, a race event that lasts for a multiple days/weeks, where people can keep feuding for the top leaderboard spots to have the fastest time if they want by going over and over to try beat the top time, where it'd be accessible for all hundreds of thousands of PoE2 players that may want to participate, is instead an "event" for just those who can make the free time to do a few hours of racing and end up with absolutely nothing but disappointment and a feeling of having wasted time when they're not the 1st place of the class the decided to race on. Yeah, that's a great "event" format right there. But hey, on the (purposely chosen) bright side, it won't really pull much attention away from the PoE1 event, since the race will be over within 2 hours or so. Got to make sure we don't compete with attention between the games after all. Right, GGG? This is making me increasingly annoyed with you as a company, with PoE1, with PoE2. You said you wouldn't delay PoE1 development because of PoE2, but that didn't happen. You said you would focus on 0.2.0 before PoE1, but due to big mad feedback that didn't happen, as you backpedal and put 0.2.0 on hold while you rush out an event for PoE1, which obviously would require developers to push out this fast. And then you even promote it within PoE2, then all but confirm that you are holding back 0.2.0 until the PoE1 event is done with how it will conveniently be done 1 month from now, when the PoE1 event ends. Early Access was said to last between 6 to 12 months, and we are going from 0.1.1(c) to 0.2.0, which has taken FOUR MONTHS at the time this patch is supposed to be conveniently ready. At least PoE1 is a good game, with fleshed out end-game systems, classes and crafting. It doesn't make it okay that the game has waited this long for an update, but at least it's not in the same state PoE2 is in. It's infuriating that you aren't even teasing what is coming. What's next GGG? When 0.2.0 is out, will you make PoE1 players wait even longer for 3.26 even if it's ready, so it won't compete with the attention of PoE2? I won't be surprised. You have made me go from positive about GGG and PoE, to feeling annoyed and frustrated. Months of lacking information, to a summary post of what you've done (and yes, you have done good QoL changes, but nothing content wise to keep player retention) with no details about what is coming. Then basically a confirmation you are holding back 0.2.0 because of the rushed PoE1 event when players got mad that you would focus on PoE2, the inferior game together with the announcement of an IDIOTIC event that is not fun for the larger majority of your players because you haven't even made it reasonably feasible to participate over a period of time, but instead opt at a time limited event that starts at a specific time and that will be done the moment that first person reaches the end of Act 3, all so it won't compete with the attention for PoE1's event. |
