[PC - Fixed] Have you had a Deep PC Freeze? with no BSOD or event viewer?

Quick Guide to Fixing the issue.

Remember that time in Poe1, where some intel 12/13/14th Gen users,
would crash near Blight encounters?
Everyone thought it was intel turbo 3.0 feature in bios.

Well it so happens to turn out, that even though that fixed the issue.
That wasn't actually the main cause.

Currently There is the ongoing issue in POE2
8 hour average gaming day, you crash like 5-6 times a day.
Happens mostly to intel users, but some AMD as well.

What if i told you, both these issues in POE1 & POE2 , could be fixed?
Fallow these steps in the order listed for best possible Success.

Windows 10 & 11 ( Doesn't matter )
1. Make sure all games are closed.
2. Make sure windows is fully up to date.
3. Visit these 2 locations, and delete the path of exile 2 folders.
( Yes the entire folder ) not just the contents inside.
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Path of Exile 2
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2

4. Verify Graphics Driver up to date, Update if needed.
5. Visit your motherboard manufacture and update bios if available.
6. Turn PC off, and back on, Go into your Bios Settings.
7. Enable Advanced Mode if possible, and visit Ram section
8. Enable XMP 1 Profile if available, otherwise its fine if not.
9. Read the white sticker of your ram cards
( Ram Examples ) will show these common Generation/Clock speeds
DDR3 1333 MHz CL## ## ## ##
DDR3 1600 MHz CL## ## ## ##
DDR4 3000 MHz CL16 ## ## ##
DDR4 3200 MHz CL16-18-18-38
DDR4 3200 MHz CL16-20-20-40
DDR5 4800 MHz CL## ## ## ##
DDR3 5600 MHz CL## ## ## ##

Once you verified what ram you have.
Fallow the steps below.
10. Enter your Ram clocks into bios were applicable.
For most motherboard bios , the clock speeds are set to auto.
Auto = Bad for POE1 & POE2 , causes many issues.
Not sure why, but GGG has yet to fix the random issue in both games.
Not even sure if they are aware.

Anyways.....
11. Save & Exit bios.
Pc reboots, you login to your computer like normal...
Wait at least 1 minute, for the computer to fully load.
12. Launch path of exile 2 , setup your graphics options.
13. Login like normal, and click a character to play.
14. Visit Each town Acts 1,2,3 on normal & cruel if possible.
Walk around each area for like 5-10 seconds.
15. Travel to temple of chaos, Guild hideout, and then hideout.
Now your brand new fresh shaders should be loaded.
16. First map will load a little slower than usual, and feel laggy until shaders properly load. so maybe do a lower tier ect.

CPU Temps Spike, and stay high even after closing game?
17. Optional: Edit Power plan
Works on all options: Balanced, high, ultimate performance
Click change advanced power settings
click the + symbol , for the top down on processor power management.
click the + Symbols for minimum & maximum.
Change Minimum from 100 to 99% ( No change required, if its lower )
Change Maximum from 100% to 99% ( This fixes poe1 & poe2 ) overheating.

Congratulations , all of your problems should be resolved.

For over 500+ gameplay hours, I had literally one hard crash (when I thought my PC might be physically damaged). It was due to high temperatures. I had uncapped FPS when in background mode, so my PC just went crazy when I switched to the browser ;] Capping FPS (at 10 when in the background) solved the issue. You may want to verify that before all those complicated procedures proposed by OP ;)

Absolutely , checking your Game Graphics settings.
Making proper adjustments there to Enhance your experience,
to your computers hardware and performance needs, is always a good start.

i jsut cap it at the same (141) for both and it's fine.

capping it at 10 might be overkill ;)

(i cap it in driver not in the game)

I have 60 in-game and 10 in the background, despite having 164Hz display ;d I just noticed that the game is resource-demanding and it likes to use all it can ;] Other games capped at 164 work fine. POE2 boils my PC. I can't see the difference between 60 and 164 FPS anyway so... And I don't need it smooth when in the background so... ;) At least now it works with no issues :)
