PoE Randomly Closes to Desktop – No Error, No Crash Code

My game keeps randomly closing to the desktop without any error message or crash code. There's no freezing or stuttering beforehand—just an instant closure.

I’ve monitored my GPU temperature at the time of the crash, and it's usually around 70-72°C, which is well within normal operating range. I also play many other games, including Path of Exile 2, and I have no issues with any of them. In fact, I have never had any issues with PoE1 before this event.

Is there any way to diagnose what's causing this? Any logs I should check or settings I should adjust? Would appreciate any guidance.

Nothing? Game is unplayable for me. Is GGG even care about PoE 1 anymore?

same issue and its driving me crazy trying to figure it out. I think its just a problem with the game at this point

Same here, happens since 6 days now.... tried everything i can

- Graphic card update
- Win update
- Files verification
- Cache cleaned
- Tried dx11/12/vulcan
- Tried Audio low/medium/high
- Tried different servers
- Tried different graphic settings
- Tried Tried Tried...

Game is just closing like altf4 sometimes after 30min sometimes after 2h... sometimes in hdt sometimes in map, everywhere.

The issue is some type of cosmetic.

The reason you can sometimes not log back in is because the offending cosmetic is, at that time, in the area you are loading into. This is why you will just suddenly be able to log in without crashing after a few minutes - they are gone.

This is why the more common areas like Highgate or Lioneye's watch are the worst. What really sucks is when someone afks in the area - you literally can't play your character.

The way to test this is go on trade and whisper till you find someone that, when you go to their hideout, it crashes you.

Log back in, and whisper them to come to you. No matter where you are, as soon as they load in, you will crash.

Another test - when you're having the issue logging in, start a new character. You will have no issues with that, as the starting beach obviously has no other players.

If someone can explain how it could be something else considering this info, I am all ears - but imo it has to be a cosmetic (or something similar).

Either way, its a nightmare to deal with.

Yea, maybe you right.
I got kicked out of the game one time by entering in the turtle hdt of a friend, but never in another while trading.
But i also get kicked out of the game while afk in my own hdt.
