people play last epoch?

Yep , players moved away from GGG's scummy early access month(s) ago .

I don't get what was scummy tho

In any case, scummy business-wise decisions or not, PoE is still King
Thank you for all the replies. I hope GGG sees this post and keeps April 4th.

Most of us want more PoE 2 content and do not care about Last Epoch or Diablo 4.

GGG should ignore competition release dates and other big games and just do what is best for their own schedule and time management.

They have two games to manage now with PoE 1 and PoE 2 they can not afford to delay both to cater to Streamers and minority of players, if you ask me.

As for the Last Epoch players, no one is forcing you to walk away from LE 2 days after it's release. Play what you want and do not complain and expect competing companies to schedule around you.

Did you take a poll? Are you able to quantify "most of us"

The issue with the date is the playerbase will be split, fact.
What that split is, nobody can predict or quantify.
Players will play what players want to play.
This creates unreliable numbers for reporting, the company will need to be confident that players will return.
Which they will.
But the volume is what matters.
Because if the volume is low, the investment decreases, which reduces staff, resources, quality of game and it's a downward spiral from there.

Just watch what happens April 4th when all the streamers rush to PoE 2 and abandon Last Epoch. That will be the true poll right there. If given a choice to pick directly, most players will choose PoE every time.

I dont get way people compare these two releases other than being in the same category of game. One is just a patch in EA, unfinished game(there should be a lot more) that frankly dont adress most of the stuff that needs to be worked on in the game(crafting, endgame and more) and one is a huge core update of a released game with lots of new stuff.

Way dont content creators talk about that instead of grying about the content that they dont have time to make?

i really dont give a rats ass about the streamers but many did point out one thing.

streamers are a large part of "advertising" nowadays. streamers WILL cover LE and then cover POE2. but by doing so they would very likely continue playing poe2 as theyre already "out of LE".

its like you go move into hotel A. stay awhile then move to hotel B. you're more likely to just remain in hotel B rather than take the hassle of moving back to hotel A. you've already setup your room in hotel B nicely and its comfortable.

this applies to gamers as well.

all this drama does not affect us gamers directly.

but, it will effect hotel A in a very negative way. despite one game being in EA and another an "unfinished" game, GGG is taking away eyeballs from LE.

ever stumbled upon a good movie that was a hidden gem? sometimes they are overshadowed by other movies that released at a close date.

i can understand WHY ggg did it. poe2/1 players are starving for updates. its amazing that GGG even has updates for us to begin with.

but the big issue is, its seen as a dick move. they announced the update to be released literally days after LE.

in a way its sabotaging LE's marketing. LE spent a whole lot of resources improving their game and doing marketing. this is one of their largest releases/expansions. and ggg decided to just steal the thunder.

ggg definitely has the right to release whenever they want. whether intentional or not, ggg can do it and HAS done it.

GGG could choose to delay the update but the damage is already done.

to me GGG broke a "bro code".

a big bully picking on the lil guy.

i still do not know if i will jump back to poe2 since no real patch notes have been released but as of now i m more inclined to play LE

There is no "bro code" among rival companies. No matter how big or small. GGG owes Last Epoch nothing.

you're right

100%

but at the same time you cant blame people for saying its a dick move. because it is. GGG really did pull a dick move this time.

if you want to defend GGG its fine. i expected more from ggg, but ggg owes me nothing too.

still. dick move ggg, dick move

WoW the entitlement of the statement with actually no valid point except..."I do not do x, I already confirmed that me and the ones near me do not do x....So since we do not do x, I agree with your decisions, because let's be honest we are simping so haaaaard".

Don't even think that the date was set just to have them lose players, to be honest at this point Last Epoch sounds better than PoE2 since PoE2 only brings some new ascendancies that will probably run the same format some essence boss who let's be honest should have been in the game from the start, a new class that will probably follow the same mechanics and so on...

There will be like literally nothing new, but I get it that people call recolored skill in d4 new so I guess I am being to picky.
Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.
i do understand where OP is coming from tho. its in OPs best interest for POE2 content to no longer be delayed.

when i was still interested in poe2 i've been waiting very eagerly for updates.

a month turned into 2. then 3. i cant remember when was the last i touched poe2 but i do know people who are passionate for the game dont want it to be delayed any longer.

despite my interactions with OP seeming to be opposing him. i am not. i agree with OP. the dates should not be changed.

i actually agree with OP on wanting GGG to not change the dates but because of 1 additional reason. which is the decision was already made and announced.

changing the dates now as a reaction to being seen as a dick move changes nothing. the damage has already been done.

and i really see nothing wrong with OP's post. he's passionate about poe2 and its within his right to be passionate about it.

i wont go around pointing fingers at him. he really did nothing wrong. perhaps it is a little selfish to want ggg to not change the date. but its not his fault. GGG is the one thats been silent for so long, and GGGs the one that decided this date.

if you want to be annoyed or point fingers. look at ggg. this is on them.

That is just very disrespectful toward GGG and vulgar. They have just as much right to release a game any time they want as any other company.

You only think it is wrong because both games are ARPG's. Companies have no obligation to pay attention to each others release schedules and work around it.
