Dawn of the Hunt Map Portals Clarification

These are a lot of workarounds to solve a problem that never existed in the first place.

Just rip off these bandaids and reimplement the 6 portals.

I'll say it once again: the only people that benefit from having 6 portals, are not at the part of the progression curve you need to tone down, and they never will be.

How about you just don't run fully modded maps? If your build can't handle them without dying or if you can't dodge mechanics why should the game be made easier? Those are all things that you can change by playing a tankier build or playing safer.


Maybe you should just accept the fact that not all content is made for casuals.


It seems to me that people with your logic work at GGG. Instead of giving each class an opportunity to do this equally in an RPG GAME about overthrowing gods, we are simply offered not to play the classes we like, but those who, by the will of the developer, were slightly more broken than the others. Brilliant, finally give them a game of the year!

So if I was a wimp, could I vaal a 5 mod map to get a t16 with 2 portals?

I have never tried vaaling a map with less than 6 mod.
Very good changes. Too good, let's see if it introduces new problems, can't think of any obvious ones.
So you deleted my constructive criticism with the old thread...

In short, change better but system still bad. It promotes logout macros, dual accounts, rolling 4-mod maps at most, sticking to the metaest of builds to make use you can one-shot the screen, and so on.

Just stop trying to reinvent the wheel here, it's not needed after you fixed so bosses reset and as such can't be portal zerged anymore. There's nothing wrong with the 6 portal system after that change. Just put your efforts to more impactful things that actually make the game be better rather than more annoying.

If you now change the amount of revives to just 6 back, so casual players can play properly I'd be very thankful.

Hard & Challenging is all fine but both PoE1 and PoE2 get so hard tailored around the players that play the game for a living that we casual players are falling behind extremely.



I see your point! But I don’t agree with your statement.

I’m a casual player, and I am on the "the harder, the better" team. I don’t mind taking a long time to achieve things. In fact I only managed to kill the Arbiter of Ash last week and it was amazing. If it were easy, I wouldn’t even be interested in the game at first place.

You will now be able to enter and exit your Maps as much as you like as long as you haven't died. The number of portals is now representative of the number of revives you have during the Map, so if you are able to survive you can come and go as you please.

Can we stop using that flawed "argument" please? it doesn't lead anywhere.

Poster you're replying to talked about builds, not classes. GGG is trying to balance all classes, you didn't even saw the 0.2 patch note yet and if you listened to the lastest interview, they are looking at having all classes as balanced as possible for release, let them cook.
