0.2.0 Hotfix 6

Edit: Apr 04, 2025 9:54 PM (GMT+2): We've temporarily reverted this as some of the changes require a realm restart to safely deploy. We'll be including it in the next restart which we'll do as soon as we can!

that was 5,5h ago. so can we get any further info?

For the Last Epoch devs reading this thread, y'all should just drop that patch tonight.

Just come in with the steel chair.

have never touched that game but im sure motivated to try it now.
GGG isnt fixing this trash in a week.
-75% dmg, -50% def, -100% fun... gave up at Act1 Boss:) GG GGG
Should make it 50% to 75% taper, with the taper beginning at level 60.

This game is unplayable.

not enough. currently in act 3 normal and it takes atleast 5-10 seconds to kill a single white monster. just to move from check point to check point takes 10-15 minutes. act 2 boss fight took me well over 20 minutes to complete. this is hands down the most horrible leveling experience i ever felt in my 20+ years of playing arpgs.
the game is not hard at all. its just not fun having to spend so much time just to move 2 screens. its not fun attacking a white monster for 10 seconds while running backwards the whole time. its not fun having to dodge roll a boss for 20 minutes straight and do no damage.

getting good does absolutely nothing.

So yeah, the new league didn’t exactly drop clean or fully polished but I was still hyped and ready to dive in hard. I had been practicing since Patch 0.1 and grinding some runs over the last two days, feeling pretty confident I’d hit endgame fast.

But then I realized... they nerfed the hell out of some builds, even entire classes or skills. Still, I stuck with it played with the cards I was dealt. What really stood out was how the difficulty ramped up. Mobs feel tankier as hell now, and the pace of the game shifted a lot because of that.

I’m not totally against these changes I get the idea: maybe they want us to explore other skills, experiment with combos that didn’t get touched. Cool. I’m all for variety. But here’s the thing...

The Act 1 boss? Way tougher now. I like a challenge, I enjoy Souls-like vibes, but where PoE2 is kinda missing for me is in that feeling of being rewarded for beating hard content. Like, I don’t feel my character growing stronger in a satisfying way, beyond just "git gud" at mechanics.

Loot’s a big part of that. And man, the loot feels wildly inconsistent. Like 70% of the time, it's not even for my class or remotely useful for my build. Especially on bosses. The fight can be sweaty as hell, and the reward? Straight trash.

And yeah... I ended up quitting after Act 1. Frustrated, zero dopamine left in the tank lmao 😂😂😂😂

I’ll be real I’m not a PoE1 veteran, just someone with nearly 200 hours in PoE2, trying to give an honest perspective. Maybe I still lack knowledge or skill, maybe I’m just salty, but I stand by this opinion. I'd love to hear how others feel too.
corrected :)

At present, most people feel the same as you. GGG is integrating Souls-like games with Poe2 in the wrong way. It should be said that as long as GGG continues to use poe1's game base and what they consider to be Souls-like, then this game will never be accepted by the majority of players and will lose many core players. This is an ARPG, not a Souls-like game.
thing is, its not like any souls game at all. if u play "perfect" in a souls game you can dish out a lot of damage, unless you do some sort of challenge run or level 1 run. you obviously also get smashed by the enemies, but if you know what you're doing, you can kill them fast.

there is no getting good in path of exile 2. at least not against white mobs. they just feel like damage sponges. it's easy to avoid all damage, but you just don't do any. so you get a boring fight against a single white pack and it takes like 20 seconds. thats not how dark souls or any other fromfsoft games work at all.

take sekiro for example. if u parry everything correctly you demolish bosses. it's just super hard to do so. but it's possible. in poe 2 you hit like a wet noodle while most fights outside of bosses are super easy. so even if u play "perfect" you still just tickle the enemies.
