Did GGG really use this patch to double down on all things complained about?
Am I crazy or did GGG make the game even slower, more sluggish, and just not fun? Nobody wants to fight act 1 bosses for an hour using a stick and a basic spell. I thought this was communicated already.
In other news, when's POE1 patch coming? Can we get a separate, dedicated team, to work on the game we enjoy? Last bumped on Apr 7, 2025, 12:45:59 PM

The person who worked on the Path of Exile 1 servers is now doing game design for Path of Exile 2. Do you think PoE 2’s game design will be better than the PoE 1 servers (recall the launch of any league)?

POE1 patch + league should supposedly come in June.
At which point those following streamers will get bored of it within a week because the streamer told them it was boring. Looking forward to more streamer compilation videos of "look how easy it is to get divines and mirrors!" |

" The game direction is good. You're having difficulty because you need to think about your build now. |

Sadly they are really just clueless and trying to pursue J's "vision" which is dragging poe1 down also.
Imagine nerfing all monsters life in acts by 25%. But not the unique ones those are fun, like a2 boss. Second-class poe gamer Last edited by pr13st#1040 on Apr 5, 2025, 5:03:05 PM

Act2 boss is the best example of how uneven the balance can be.
Typically when fighting this boss, your skills should be level 8. (plus boosts). My experience playing a mercenary is fighting this boss at the same level is no fun and takes 15 minutes. It is not difficult to avoid his attack, it just takes 15 minutes. The source for the fight to drag on is simply the balance at this point. Mind you I did have 100% of all passive nodes into something boosting my damage. I still fought the boss for 15 minutes. Alternatively, I could have gone back, leveled up twice and trust in the game to drop me a level 9 skillgem. Why should this make a difference you ask? Because this unlocks the skill artilelry ballista. From the moment you use this skill as a mercenary or whatever, you just wipe the floor with the game easy peasy. All challenge has vanished, no boss mechanics, no nothing. There is an assertion of balance on behalf of the players, but the game is utterly unbalanced when it comes to the relative power of skills. The act 2 boss in 0.2 is the culmination of that. Typically, streamers and try-hards were used to playing the test realm, so when the dirty unwashed masses did their season starts, the streamers had their back. Plenty of good advice for people struggling. This is also something we are missing right now. GGG may not like it, but they need their streamers to break the game before the season starts, not to fix it, but prvent the casual masses into dying to the point at which they downvote the game once and for all. |

" Nope lets just stop the get guders right there. That comes from a game culture where you can win with a dagger at level1. You have no control over your build. You have no control over what you are using. You cannot compare you experience with the game with anybody else because. Loot is random, mobs are random. There is no crafting. There is no player agency. There is no skill... Might as well be yelling at a loser at a roulette table. Focus man!!!! this time focus , win man ... bet on 7... and really try this time. Its all going to go to shit. Cause there are no winners, they are just lucky. There are no losers, they were just unlucky. There is no experimentation because there is only one approved way to the finish line now. I am watching a game implode. Last edited by Jitter912#4278 on Apr 6, 2025, 12:33:39 PM

" This is such a great take. I’ve been so frustrated the last few days. I love POE1 and all but I really liked the game feel of POE2. I had my beefs (looking at you abysmal drop rates and masochistic SSF issues), but I spent 100s of hours messing around with different classes, trying different builds, and blasting around endgame. Eventually teaching T15 maps on a sorcerer and a monk (both non-meta). GGG ruined it all with a terrible patch - something that could have been avoided by 1) allowing it to be tested before hand and 2) not dropping a patch early for the specific purpose of fucking over another games (LE) big content update. This will be even more apparent when they finally tune the patch in the first or second week of May, meaning this could have been the patch release day to begin with. What hilarious is it totally backfired anyways with tons of gamers upset enough to say f you GGG and uninstall on principle, and people like me trying LE for the first time and getting super hyped for the patch. Unless the state of POE2 drastically changes, come 10 days from now when the LE content drops, my POE2 playtime will be zero, and I’ve proposed not purchased things I wanted in the cash shop because I doubt I’ll be back. |
