Not clear if intended.
Pre 0.2 energy shield was leeching at 100% mana, there was no pause in energy shield gain when mana hit 100%. I could leech via Quarterstaff Strike without spending mana. This is unrelated to mana leech being change from instant. " Source? |

Its an intended mechanic of leech. Look at the passive node: "Fast Metabolism". When the resource that the leech is refilling is maxed out it removes active leech effects.
I do think that acolyte should have over-leech protection though. |
