Dear GGG
Unless you want your great new 'game' to become a white elephant and the laughing stock of the ARPG community...
Fix it. Sure, you're still stumbling around trying to find some idea where the game wants to go, but you're turning away your most die hard fans. Even your SHILLS are turning and walking away. The solution is pretty simple, just some database adjustments: Monster speed: reduce by 30-50%. Monster HP: reduce by 50% across the board. Rarity: Increase by 100x or more. If players cannot advance because they're not getting anything to improve their builds they'll just... stop playing. And then go vent their frustration on streaming platforms. OFC, if you're not looking at user response, keep going with what you're doing... and we players will just wave goodbye on our way out the door. People will look back on the game with tongue-in-cheek dark mirth just like Star Wars New Player Experience... Patch Notes 3.15: Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. Last bumped on Apr 7, 2025, 7:04:45 AM

You're not wrong.
steam charts alone show that initial launch had 578,569 how many steam users played 0.2.0? 246,345 That's 42% of people, on steam who came back. not even half, less than half. Just shows the audience of this style of game is not for everybody. I respect them for going after a new audience, but they aren't coming back. When will they pivot to cater for those of us who do come back, otherwise we won' come back.... and who will be left to play this game? |

" Not that I'm trying to argue on the numbers, but didn't 0.1 release right at the start of school holidays in America? I know it was the start of a 2 week Australian school holiday on launch fir 0.2, but how much of the audience is American? I might be completely off and it wasn't school holidays for 0.1 either. I imagine a lot of people came in expecting something else, and it just wasn't what they were after. Nothing wrong with that |

" The more of these posts I read, the more I really think GGG is on to something. Guys, whatever you're doing that's putting off the sort of person who could possibly write something like this unironically, just keep it up because it's absolute gold. |

" I'm aware of that, given that I'm Australian. However, as NZ are right next to each other, times line up (only a few hours difference), and I'm pretty sure their school holidays line up with ours. |

" Pretty much my thoughts. I hope ggg keeps going the exact direction they are currently so that these people get mad and just leave. They assure us that of they leave, the game will die because everyone thinks the way they do. Almost as though ggg doesn't have someone employed to keep on top of this sort of stuff, so they have a good idea of what they are doing. Just makes me shake my head that these guys genuinely believed it was "Chris Wilson's ego" that previously drove poe direction, and now it's "Jonathon's ego" driving poe2 direction... |

" [Removed by Support] - even if your own ends up in the sewer as well. Even when pretty much all sources are saying 'you messed up' you folks will jump on the screw up and embrace it for all its worth, even while the thorns skewer you... just so long as everyone else gets skewered too. " At least one someone, almost certainly several very experienced and educated someone's whose entire job it is to meticulously evaluate every kilobyte of player activity data that flows their way - session length, daily playtime, who is dying and where, how people are taking to clear each area or Act, class and build breakdowns, etc., etc. I worked for years in a F2P studio and these people were literally the heart of the team - within hours of a new patch dropping they could show us a breakdown of changes in player behavior across a hundred different metrics sliced a thousand different ways, yet these weekend forum warriors look at the same solitary isolated stat with zero context and think they have the inside track on the health of the studio. |

" Guy, come on. It's 2025; we really shouldn't need to be having the confirmation bias conversation at this point. When you say "all sources" what you mean is "all sources whose opinions I'm seeing" which means either a) prominent streamers or b) players who actively post their opinions on forums or social media platforms. Taken together, the sum total of these two groups is a tiny fraction of the total player population and despite their adamant insistence to the contrary their opinions do not speak for the rest of the player community. |
