Actually, I'd almost suggest that we let GGG believe they've created something amazing with PoE2, that everything they came up with is the new sliced bread. Maybe then there's a chance that management would give PoE1 some proper development time again.

I'm interested who's vision this patch was. Because it appears it was not the same as the communities. Agree this announcement comes across as tone deaf and emphasizes the disconnect from what the fans really want.

Why is GGG making a game for like 5% of its player-base?
Imagine thinking you are gonna chill with a new league in PoE 2 with some challenging and fun times, but what awaits is just pain and misery. You either have to be EXTREMELY lucky or EXTREMELY skilled (or at times both) in PoE for this game to be good. A game should be somewhat easy and fun at the start so it pulls in more players, and the difficulty should gradually become harder, but as it is now, you just get destroyed in the first zone let alone the rest of the game. Worst of all, if you f-up your build, its easier to just make a new character than to find some skill gems and support gems to fix it, which doesn't make a damn sense, people have limited time to play, and they don't want to waste it on such stupidity. |

So, you basically tell us, that some gamedesigner, who designed Aggorath, has really played the game?
So, he entered the location after Viper, didn't found the heart, reloaded location. Grinded for the heart, moved to next location and spent like 20-30 minutes finding the Ritual spot, to place the heart. Knowing he has no other objectives or any other rewards but 2 skill points. But forced to spend precious minutes. And after all this gamedesigner said "Well, that's ok! That looks like fun!". Yes? Your game is full of these thing. |

What you did not address but should be:
Players being stunned by white mobs mid attack animation. I don't know how many times my sunder was cancelled... by a fly passing by. Monster movement speed has to go down. Player movement speed has to go up.. or even significantly up and then you won't have to lower mob speed. Attack animations. Really guys? I have to make the entire Ginyu force dance to perform ONE melee attack. Why? Up, swing, shake, twinkle with your toes, tighten your buttocks, moan, stretch, fetch aaaand, slam. Hit misses. Repeat. Areas are ENORMOUS, forcing lots of backtracking, looking in every crack of the map too find the point of interest, etc. It's just so tiresome and unfun.
In an hour of gameplay, theres 20 minutes of movement without any significant interaction, 30 min of "fair fightning" and 10min of button mashing to slowly take down a mob, which never ends up being worthwhile, but forced due to linear questing. Not enjoyable for me sadly. Will be back one last time for POE1 league 3.26, for old time sakes, before retiring. Thank you GGG, had a blast these past years, thanks to you ! <3 |
