Lost progress and items in campaing

It's the 2nd time now, that I lost progress and more important already picked up items (Gemcutter Prism) while playing the campaign.
The message is simply "Operation timed out" and after re-login I'm placed at the waypoint without items, XP when entered the zone (even a level less). This happened 2 times in Act II. Think this is what I am getting too, I was in Act1 Cruel and I just went to Red Vale I think I had just killed the unique for the last quest item when I got a Disconnect, operation timed out. Logged back in and the Red Vale waypoint was undiscovered and I was back in the previous area.
