Changes to Act 3 Areas in Path of Exile 2

You forgot Waterways in this list....but a good start into the right direction, many map designs simply arent fun. :)

My experience with Waterways was to hit the checkpoint and think "yes! finally over!" only to realize it was the halfway point. Feel-wise they should just end the Matlan Waterways at the checkpoint.
This patch is no fun at all. After 16 hours, I'm still stuck in the campaign at the end of Act 5, and the boss is tearing me apart while I deal zero damage. It just feels totally crappy, and I'm not enjoying it at all anymore. I honestly don't even know why I keep logging in and doing this. It's really a shame. So screw Early Access and just release the game properly. Nowadays, everything is half-finished garbage, but as long as the MTX can be bought, there’s no problem — everything else doesn’t seem to matter.
fix minions, not coming back till minions are playable.
Very good changes! I understand that in the final version, side locations will be added to Act 3 and it will be even longer?

BTW Act 2 requires changes to the UI. It is very confusing to move between locations using the Desert Map on Dreadnought and Waypoints.

Hang on. This post appears to be directly addressing long-standing player concerns, and fixing them. Are you sure you didn't mean to make the areas even larger?

This is something I wanted to say. There is no reason for us to be forced to move the caravan just let us click to the zone we want to go to and assume that the caravan moves there by default. Fixed.

Thanks for looking into the Act 3 areas for ways to compromise. It is important to me that communication happens in a timely manner like this post. I ask that you continue that trend as you work through the 120+ pages of feedback that is still growing on the "what we are working on" thread. There are real concerns and issues presented there. Things that will make your game better and attract a long term following if you find a formula for success.

I know you said that there will not be a complete overlap between PoE1 and PoE2 players. However, having the center of that Venn diagram as large as possible will net you the most consistent income in the long term. Current PoE1 players spend money regularly to support that game. This is a fact. If you want them to also supply PoE2 with consistent income in addition to PoE1 there has to be something in PoE2 for them. There is too much risk and uncertainty in relying solely on a separate, albeit large, customer base where their first/only GGG experience is a 30USD PoE2 EA key. They are unproven in the test of time. They could be very fickle. If the game reviews continue to tank you will never know...

For now, it is better to give something to both audiences and turn the heat up over time. There is an old adage about boiling a frog slowly. If you want your game to deviate substantially from where PoE1 is, you should turn the heat of change up gradually. The current levels are a shock to the system that hasn't gone away in 6 months. This means that there is actually something to the complaints and it is not just the initial shock/reaction.

It will cost you much more to attract a completely separate player base than to keep your existing customers happy. Marketing 101.






No Alteration orbs/Skills&Ascendancies from 0.1 that remain broken in 0.2/Drop rate of greater & perfect jewelers/Rhoas being locked behind 130 dex requirement as of 0.2E
Good change but fix loot and currency drop rates.
