still missing the most important thing of an ARPG.... the loot, where is the frekking loot boys???
There is like 0 reason for me to continue playing the game as it is, there is no loot to be found (found 2 divs and i brought 2 chars to lvl90+ farming t15) |

The real problem isn't about the difficulty being too high or too low. This season is just plain bad. The rewards for tackling difficult and endgame content are completely underwhelming. In fact, even the incredibly rare drops we do get are usually just bad – they're not what players need or want, so their value is really low, sometimes even the same as the entry ticket. It's a negative EV situation.
What's going to keep people playing? Difficulty has never been the issue. The important question is, what's there to motivate players and give them a meaningful goal to strive for? Take the belt from the last season, for example. You had to risk destroying it with Vaal Orbs or invest a significant amount of Divines to upgrade it. But this season? GGG must nerf the 'Temporal Chains'. It's currently 22% less player speed in maps and make the map unplayable.

Good changes. But still unrewarding.
After campaign i have done like 50 maps. You know how many upgrades i found? ZERO! And believe me, my gear is trash. And i also slammed many exalted on items that could become pretty good. " Agreed. It is wild that we're this far into development with loot still being unaddressed. Is it called 'Dawn of the Hunt' because the moment you load into a map you hunt for something worth more than 1e? Crafting is an abyssmal rngfiesta that usually results in a net loss compared to buying the finished item from trading. And barely any crafting materials drop during the campaign at all (looking at regals and alch orbs) why are these as rare as dropping a div in endgame? I remember GGG saying PoE 2 will be the POE where we care about loot on the ground. As it currently stands, that couldnt be further from the truth. (10-20 levels without getting a decent upgrade unless you buy one is way too common) Balancing as a whole (mechanical and economic) honestly feels like it was either randomly generated or done by AI? Thank you for the constant stream of updates. But: No Loot; No Play. |
