To increase damage you need two types of runes:

My hands reached the titan. He turned out to be much stronger than the kitava, both in terms of damage and survivability.
I don't have any ideas yet on how to scale damage to bosses. This is the main drawback of Chaos Warrior. On the plus side, you don't need any unique items. It also don't need spirit.
