OP: I loved it the same. And cant wait for the real thing again. A serious league. I remember dowloading the heist league patchs and being like WTF 3.5 GB?! WOW!!! I want to see that again next league. But its unlikely. Poe2 commands too much attention from the art department. (consumers of megabytes) They made a choice. They pulled the trigger on poe2EA and are compelled to fixate on its continued constitution and ascension. Perhaps they pulled the trigger too soon but likely not. It's most likely that the project could not go much farther without significant funding. They pulled the trigger. Early? Development wise yes but financing wise? no. The situation is different from poe1, sponsored by nerds the open beta was released very early on and fully for free in a bid to gather adherents.... D2 nerds. Believers would donate a lot of small donations in the hope of a new D2. THEY DID!!!! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE GOT IT. Actually there were also a LOT of "whales" like charan. who single-handedly paid a months wages to the devs or more. Poe2 is not in the same position we expect ggg to be mature and a proper rival to the likes of blizzard and intellectually they are, but not financially. I just want a proper league for poe1 within a month from now. you can dick around with easy to mess with content for a while. races to tide us off for a bit. but im not buying into EA. That being said. I have full confidence in gggs quality it just takes time. I have long proposed that poe2 has a required buy in, even if its only 5 bucks. in fact, now I believe it should be 35$ the very cost of EA. and that 35$ sorts out your tabs. you get the poe1 equiv of that many tabs. map,currency etc. GGG have proven themselves extremely capable. they need money. they were doubted nobodies before when they felt that they could not demand cash... they can now. Demand cash. You are the successor to blizzard north. Be proud. Expect payment. Earn it as you did before, as we know you can. Dont be coding all sorts of stupid needless shards that complicate everything just to sell stash tabs. Take the money up front. With pride. Knowing you will deliver. |
