CROSSBOW play style and 7 points that Devs need to focus on them!
After 600 hours playing with Crossbow style and after patch 0.2.0 that brought some positive actions in general Crossbow damage, i noticed some points that should bring more balance and improvements of this weapon type.
1. Bugs related with gems that support Crossbow skills should be fixed with priority as it ruining the combinations and overall experience. Such as Momentum gem that don't work correctly with most Crossbow skills. 2. Jams,Stucks, or whatever make the weapon stop firing during fight is not acceptable but these problems continue happening after patch 0.2.0! 3. Reload Time is pain in the ass and should be seriously improved if not Devs intent to abolish it. Crossbow play style invests to a lot of things and this should be understood that the more bringing of reloading options will not solve the unfair balance as the passive points are really dust in the wind! 4. Quiver Quiver Quiver Quiver....For Christ sake bring us a special gear item that will restore balance and justice between Crossbow and Bow. Both are two handed weapons and both deserve respect. Why are you excluding this benefit from Crossbows? What are you fearing? The difference will be still unnoticeable. A 5-10% increased stats wouldn't ruin the balance. You've done it with the extra ring slot now do it please also in Crossbows. 5. I don't understand why reloading Crossbow weapon doesn't work while dodging. Didn't you see Matrix or Max Payne to take an example of them? Is too way difficult for a skillful soldier to reload gun when rolling dodged?? If i avoid a damage by dodging 6m, should i do one more metre pacing to reload weapon??? This mechanism is not essential but crucial to survibility. 6. Most skills (and i dare to say almost all of them in Endgame) related with Crossbow weapon are useless or significant slow speed and unbalanced compared in other classes. If i make an exception, the Galvanic Shards tries to save the honour with no luck. And this is clear noticeable if you check Crossbow player's most playable skill. So it's important to reconsider your thoughts and maybe change some of them from DMG to DPS style as Galvanic shards do. Bringing new of this style in future will be also good idea. 7. One think that matters a lot in Crossbow's shot firings is bolt's fragment amounts and firing path angle. If I want to fire with Galvanic shards skill, not 6 but 3 bolts in a closed firing angle, i will do it with a special gem that is mented for this specific amendment. Of course the damage will scale immediately to the needs of this amendment. While you brought such similar gems that made amendments to Bow firings, you forgot to support also the Crossbow weapon. Why??? In conclusion there should be still a lot of support coming in future updates that will enhance Crossbow experience and make people return to this weapon style. Devs abandoned this Crossbow weapon type of play, they don't care anymore. Recently stats show clearly what people choose as class and weapon. Tactician is also garbage.
Yesterday i saw a guy with a lightsaber in level 92 and was clearing whole maps in 1 min while i was trying to reach him.( I'm level 95) Crossbow is the worst and slowest weapon off all weapons. And Devs didn't want to bring a special item as quiver becouse they hate that type of weapon. Even players with spears can clean fast maps. What a nice balance!!! " The skills need to be improved with high priority. They are slow and useless. Damage also need to be buffed if there is no quiver slot for Crossbows. Even with latest buffs in damage and still noone want to play with it. Last edited by teobibu#1278 on May 7, 2025, 1:05:28 AM

" 1. what's not working with momentum? 2. The crossbow getting stuck is annoying for sure. +1 3. Reload is tied to attack speed, so if you dont want reload just build up some attack speed or use the reload speed support gem. 4. Crossbows are far more powerful than bows so i dont think they need a quiver type item, they DO need a movement ability though. 5. Dodging cancels all animations/actions, see #3 for solution to reloads. 6. crossbow skills are mostly fine, you just have to invest the right passives for them (area, projectile, crit) 7. I don't understand this one, do you mean you want a support to shoot in a tighter spread? because i also agree there should be a reduce firing angle support. |

reload is incompatible with monster speed as it currently stands
" Not sure this is correct, it's very obvious on controller, it's tied to animation cancelling, premature shoot cancelling reload, the audio cue not aligning with the animation, and occasionally phases of the moon " Further argument to do away with reload speed entirely and change those passives/ affixes to attack speed Bows don't have draw speed, melee weapons don't have windup speed |

" For example if you firing monsters and drops coming in front of you, you accidently put mouse cursor over them and....boom weapon stops and most times you are a dead man!
