Agree on that. They put themselves in the position where literally everyone is complaining about something. Have to decide now if you want to keep ruthless or not and make the best out of it. Defending 1 portal and then make it 6. Defending ambitious waystonesustain, then making it the easiest thing to do. Defending rare loot drops to now just completely overdo it. I think the problem right now is that most people just really want to like this game and because it is going back and forth no one wants to finally decide if he or she likes or hates it.

The endgame is flawed in desing. Juicing tower is tedious, unfun. The game feels bloated with trash items and nothing to chase for. You no longer get XP from pinnacle area, which makes the experience grinding so much worse, and you are obligated to play maps. Before you could just grind Simulacrums but why would anybody do that now? The loot table is ruined and you get zero XP.

This is some serious aggravation, I really want to like this game but to me, it went from an extraordinary excellent game close to D2 and yes it had flaws and balancing issues, to a complete ruined state game with 0.2 and so on.

Trying to model PoE after Diablo 2 is likely one of their mistakes.

Diablo 2 wasn't that good when it came to game design. In fact they royally screwed it up with the synergy patch later in LoD. That's the patch that turned every build into one main skill.

Before that patch you had extras skill points so you'd diversity your character like Frozen Orb + Chain Lightning rotating which was much more like Diablo 1. Making yourself able to deal with any problem instead of just running past immune packs.

I actually played very little D2 after that. Esp when they added respec.

Not even PoE1 tried to be some sort of "Diablo 2", in fact, it tried to be a good "Diablo 2" successor, what "Diablo 3" wasn't... and GGG did it.
Now, they try to make an outdated version of a game they already made... like... seems they have too much money to burn.

I agree %100, but i have hopes for PoE2, just, give us freedom with build variaty, give us good rng uniques to get, even make it BoP, doesnt matter. chasing something with fun mechanic is core for ARPG, i hoep they can balance it
same i started Project D2 the other day and i felt more enjoyment farming andy countless times than tediously preparing the fucking towers, maps, atlas and on top of that the slow paced combat its just a nightmare . i dont even have words for how bad poe2 turned out to be

Well they obviously took much in concept from Diablo2. Chris always said how much he loved it and wanted to make a more hardcore version. Mostly what I'm saying is depending which version of Diablo 2. Seems like the later version, they copied some of the bad with the good.

I don't have the brightest take on the future of ARPGs in general. I feel they've lost their roots which came from turn based RPGs. I see games like DOS2 and BG3 getting huge marks and awards while ARPGs aren't doing too well. It's almost like they forgot the RPG part of ARPG.

Please stop bumping this thread as it is giving me crippling depression seeing fun items such as Shako in the title and what POE 2 could have become if it wasn't for a misguided vision.

Honestly, even if 0.1 had many flaws, id rather it be the final version of the game (with the bug fixes of course). End game would still be completely lacking with tower juicing being tedious, but it would be at least 100x times more enjoyable than the forum endgame.
