Standalone Mac - Unable to connect to patch server after update to 3.26.0c (Logs inside)

After updating to the new patch, I am stuck on the launcher connecting and eventually timing out with the message that it is unable to connect to the patching server.
Doing some testing, and log evaluations I have noticed the following. The client is attempting to connect to 10.5.1.253:13014 for patching instead of the usual patch.pathofexile.com:12995 Hopefully this will help identify the issue. I launched PoE using the binary in the Path of Exile.app/Contents/MacOS/Path of Exile.
That opened up a terminal window where I was able to see the logging for the launcher on the Console. I just tried using the -p launch parameter to specify the working patch server address, but it did not take the value, still using the IP address for the patch server. OK the game is back for me (M2 Mac)
if anyone is wondering how to get it working this is what has been successful in my case after new patches:

1) Go to /[your user folder]/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile/ and *delete* the file Path of Exile.app if it exists
2) Run the installer 3) Run Path of Exile.app from your /Applications folder 4) It will say you need to move the Path of Exile.app file to the trash - click OK or confirm or whatever does that 5) Look in /[your user folder]/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile/ for the update.dat file (note - if the Path of Exile.app file is still here, the update.dat file probably won't be... move that .app file to the trash and run the main Path of Exile.app from the /Applications folder again) 6) Change the update.dat file name to update.zip and open it 7) Run the Path of Exile.app file that it creates |

The new Hotfix solved this issue for me. I obviously had to use the older version to start the patch, but I'm back in the game.

" I did get it once in the 7 or 8 times I tried to reinstall lol. Basically as mentioned upthread it seems they had a local IP test link in the patcher and not the link to the normal patch server. I guess after they fixed that it started working again. But aside from that, the procedure I listed here has been the working method to get the game playing on my Mac for every patch since this new league began. |
