You can search for steps of how to get the standalone client to work, but the basic summary is that you have to "force" Mac to launch the application, otherwise it just warns they it may damage you computer. The button to force the launch is in System Settings - Privacy and Security. You need to scroll down to near the bottom. It also seems that you need to have the main PoE app in the folder where the game data is stored, and not from the usual Applications folder. The folder is typically "/Users/<Your username>/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile. It takes some voodoo, but it seems that Mac OS keeps trying to clamp down harder on applications that aren't directly in a business relationship with Apple. to be clear, you're looking for /Users/[your account]/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile It will not be in the root /Library/Application Support folder. If you are looking in /Users/[your account]/ and don't see a Library folder, command+shift+period to see hidden files. They could do better for Mac users, yes. But at least full playability has been restored this league and I'm not forced to play in dnd mode. I assume it's because a small independent company like Tencent can't afford the $100 / year apple developer license required to bundle a proper cert.
