Do you feel like we are in one of these "Death of a game" videos?

It is clear that last year's Settlers was the pinnacle of PoE and the only way left to go is downward. PoE 2 did not turn out to be the miracle game we all hoped it would be. It is pretty controversial actually, with a severe lack of identity and direction.

PoE 1 itself, server issues aside, is nothing remarkable. If you think about it, the "content" we got is just copied half-baked T17 maps and Rogue Exiles/Betrayal. It doesn't feel unique and it was definitely not play tested properly, despite coming out after 10 months of hiatus.

But the most telling signs are the cracks appearing everywhere - from the server side to the balance side and up to the developers and players themselves. I see anger and disillusionment more often than any genuine excitement.

Now, don't get this the wrong way, I am sure PoE 1 and 2 will be around for some time. But it seems that the golden days are over and the franchise is in a steady decline. And there is usually one outcome.

No, PoE has been around for so long because the depth of content is hard to replicate.

It may be bleeding out for the next 7 years, but so do all game eventually. This doesnt feel like "a moment" for PoE.

PoE has been dying since 2013. WoW has been dying since 2005.

No, not even close. PoE 2 is going to get a lot better in the coming year or two for sure, you can't fully judge it at this time.

Nah because its circumstantial, this could be on the road to failure but it could also be an irrelevance in the future.
