Is it the game or my potato Machine? (Poe1)

"
I have a phenomenal machine and PoE still runs like shit. I've found that it runs better if you completely disable the audio. For some reason that helps.

• CPU: Intel Core i9-14900F — 24 cores, 32 threads
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 — 24GB VRAM
• RAM: 64GB DDR4
• Storage: 1TB WD SN850X NVMe + 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe
• Display: MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED — 2560×1440 @ 360Hz, HDR
• Audio: Bose QC headphones + RØDE Podcaster v2
• Motherboard: MSI Z790 (MS-7E06)
• Keyboard: Wooting Two HE (analog input)
• Mouse: Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED — paired with Logitech Powerplay
• OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Thank you.

And yes, I use audio at medium if i am not mistaken and it did make difference when I did that.

For FPS vulkan made difference. FPS is quite ok, the problem has been that too many calculation at same time. And it is exactly the build I would like to play and invested some mirrors :/
Exiles, pffff!
It's your potato machine. Legit PCs from 12 years ago are more powerful than your laptop. It's time for a upgrade.
Wow OP....you were given very specific, very actionable advice based on your OP and you didn't just ignore it, but attacked it and (for some odd reason) the credibility of the person who gave it to you?

You realize that "tech advice" in all its forms VERY RARELY requires someone to have the exact same empirical and personal experience you have had? That is a fundamental misunderstanding of your own question, your own machine, and technology in general.

"Is it my car? I drive a 1950 clunker with no engine, and I'm having trouble driving"
"Excuse me, not trying to be rude, but if you haven't driven a 1950 clunker with no engine, then what business do you have giving me advice or telling me to buy a new car?"

What even was the point of this thread if you don't want advice from people who can help you? Obviously you already have all the information you need, right? After all, not a single person in the whole wide world and beyond has more experience than YOU with your machine.

How hard for you is just attend to the subject? Do you know those builds? Have you play them with a better computer?
No? So why are you reply? Again, it seems that you just want to fight.

Can't complain since I made the switch to 9800X3D. Playing in 4k with mixed settings. Screen-vomit builds, usually. Even the most hardcore stuff has yet to cause severe issues. RTX 4080 and 32GB DDR5, 7000 MB/s SSD. Game runs well, given the circumstances.

It’s just your potato laptop.

You don't need to come seeking fight. Because it what you both are doing.

Well, originally I clicked on the thread to maybe help someone with a technical question. After I read the conversations tho, I realized it wasn't worth it.

I wish u luck in life, to quote urself.
I'm on a potato as well. Some things like Harbinger tank my GPU performance into ~5 fps levels. The Sirus fight, unfortunately, is near unplayable anymore. When he was introduced the game and that fight ran good enough to actually complete. I remember when GGG first put in Vulkan and things were pretty smooth.

If this isn't just a troll, you are being rude. The fact that you don't realize that is going to cause you no end of pain through your life.

This is a joke right? It has to be a joke.

First of all: yes I have played "those builds" with a better computer. But that is IRRELEVANT. If you knew anything about tech, you'd know that first-hand experience is irrelevant. And everyone in this thread that tried to offer you advice almost CERTAINLY has both better tech knowledge AND first-hand experience than you, based on your...responses.

You picked the fight. With the very first person that answered your question in its entirety. Then you picked a fight again, and with others who attempted to help.

Your machine is OLD. You know its OLD. You know its near the bare minimum to even run the game properly, and parts of your machine is older than the game itself (or at least the updated engines they put in around 2018/2019). IT IS OBVIOUS that a better machine will see significantly better performance across the board. That is how technology works, especially nearly everything that goes into a computer and works to make this game run. Not a single person needs to literally play your build on a better rig to tell you that answer. And I bet that even if they copied your build exactly, posted numbers here, you still would find a reason to discount what they are telling you.

I'll ask again: what is even the point of this thread, if you don't want answers or help?

If this whole thing is just a case of someone who doesn't understand technology at all, then own it. It is perfectly fine to be unaware, you opened a tech question thread in the first place. But recognize that you are not listening to correct responses and being incredibly rude in your own interactions back.
