Auto-targeting, Hitboxes, Pushing and DESYNC
" Why are you repeating this several times a day on the forums? I don't get it. If you feel like it's a bad game, why spend hours on its forums? Why not just play something else or so? |

This was raised during cbt. And players kept complaining about this every patch. I think they do the opposite of what players ask. GGG hates it's fans.

If anyone doesn't understand how big of an issue this is, just watch Quin's death on the Atziri boss fight. The amount of pushiness and desync on the bear form is insane.

That crap is annoying. When I click to attack a mob, I expect to close ground to that mob and attack. Not walk around the mob to attack from a different angle.

Agreed with all points.

Yeah autotargeting sucks. Even on ranged i played lightning spear now and the spear is thrown next to an enemy not hitting it even when the enemy is stationary and i have to reclick the enemy to target it correctly. Its just annoying as hell

+1:
I have played ranged, melee, and spellcaster now and all 3 have experienced this issue. Auto target AUTO MISSES. Projectiles will target the hand of a monster and miss the hitbox instead. Spells will aim at terrain or some inanimate object instead of the actual HIGHLIGHTED monster. Melee will swing or smash literally RIGHT THROUGH a monster and STILL miss somehow (didn't they "fix" melee attacks not missing at point blank?). Also, like you guys said, traversing a map and getting stuck because the map decided that 2-pixel area was not traversable is fucking infuriating. I will roll around and just not move because the ground doesn't want to let you walk there. Mind you, half the time the terrain looks like you could walk right over it. |

Pretty much agree with everything said.
Would just like to add that it seems that the game director is not willing to acknowledge that there is a fundamental problem with how everything related to hitboxes, movement, pushing, aiming and netcode works. Maybe it works good enough when he is play testing act 1 on the internal build with no servers involved, engaging monsters 1 by 1 in meaningful combat, pressing 1 button per second at most... If they were honest with themselves and the player base, we would still be on patch 0.1, maybe something like 0.1.5 would be appropriate, instead they seem to think that they are progressing, when in reality they are only iterating and adding content while the fundamentals are still not working. If it continues like this it will be even worse than it was with PoE1, we will reach 1.0 some time next year and the game will be "released" with all these problems and probably a few new ones. Absolutely nothing has been done so far about it in more than a year and sadly I am starting to believe that nothing ever will be. Last edited by spohanpiscanc#4457 on Jan 28, 2026, 2:25:47 PM
