Is the drop manipulated or random?

Maybe you're watching the 15-minute highlights video from 100 streamers and get a skewed view...
The game is "balanced" around folks who play 12+ hours every day.

Most/all well-known streamers play 12+ hours per day, so you see a highlight reel of their loot.

I don't see the confusion here.

Those who can't play 12+ hours a day should find another currency simulator to play.
GGG has stated publicly they can modify individual players drops not only in general but can even (proven via streams) drop specific items for people and have been exposed to do so previously.

As aa legit player it really makes you feel worthless in GGG's eyes when some of these people drop mirrors every league with a quarter of my playtime, Might as well be the hunger games with only peoples favorite character getting that supply drop.
Innocence forgives you

Interesting. I dont think I would like being hit by a mirror.

Apps that simulate slot machine do it! There is a big scandal here in Brazil about "influencers" who use special version of those apps to show themselves oline wining big money prices.

So, your believe that it can be a strategy of some companies to hook user is correct.

It seems that some people here are too naive thinking that it cannot be easily implement in POE.

Im am not saying do it. But sure I do don't doubt.

Anyway, the fact is that if you are playing PoE targeting to get a raw mirror drop, you probably doing it wrong. But if you play enough and right you can farm currency to have one. It doable being a streamer or not.

Exiles, pffff!
We don't know, so we can't say for sure. But from a buisness perspective it does make a lot of sense. Remember that Blizzard actually did sth like that with D4 Streamer EA. They openly admitted that the drop rates are much higher for the EA Event. I am pretty sure there are some little extra drops for streamers with lots of viewers. I don't think it is a far fetched conspiracy theory to think that streamers get some extra luck for promotional purposes and that they let players in general starve a little otherwise to keep them from quitting to early and make them keep on grinding. I also 100% think, although i don't know for sure, that using the shop will make droprates better. That is probably the case for most games like that.

I call bs on that one. Source or it didn't happen.

Streamer login queues did happen, it was a poorly thought out marketing / advertising stunt. I give you that. But GGG dropping specific items for people is very far fetched.

How is it possible that almost every streamer I've seen has had a mirror drop, in one way or another? Some even had two. And thinking about it, it would make business sense, as people would get hooked on the game watching their streamers get those rewards, awakening the desire in their drugged minds. This would make the number of users grow and keep them around over time, especially since now every two months we'll have updates between poe1 and poe2. We've been a year without poe1, and I'm sure the drop was manipulated at the beginning to hook people. At the beginning of the league, I had some big drops, and now nothing at all. GGG, your tricks are obvious. Will you explain?

you mean the people who play thousands of hours as a job find more stuff than people who play as a hobby?

fuck tell me more
