It's the Spark treatment except Galvanic wasn't clearing 2 screens at the same time, just be grateful the ascendancies that used Galvanic didn't get gutted, for now.


Don't need to test. I put 300 hours in Merc, it's painfully obvious to anyone who plays that class that this is a horrible decision

Just pathetic actions and a mess in the Horizon shines. I broke my mind figuring out how to reduce reload time to make GS work as an acceptable skill. For now only the 3 nodes tha give 70% Reduced reload time and the skill gem that gives 60% increased Reload speed may help unless changes had been done to the existing old nodes. Galvanic Shards are used by 80-90% of Crossbow players for Crist sake, it can't be considered as junk skill.

As always, the Warrior and Merc class pay the taxes in the end... I want to see the monthly statistical analysis and how many Crossbow players will be left in the game...

Fast Leveling would be impossible....
I played witchhunter in 0.1 and 0.2 just because of my stubborness and because wh looks awesome as in Van Helsing (2004) movie.

And god I was punished for that.

While this ascendancy is ok in campaign and early maps, it's not competitive in late game at all. Market is ruled by people farming by speed of light while your WH is moving like snail barely killing map bosses.

Now they destoyed only good map clearing skill? That is too much for me. I will start next league with most OP deadeye build as everyone else.

I understand they wanted to destroy galvanic shards so people play more variety of skills and do combos.
I tried that by myself and I've also searched whole internet. While there are some options for campaign and early maps, lategame juiced maps cant be played with combos. You can't wait 4 second for grenades to explode while mobs who insta kill you are biting you in half second.

Consider double barrel and 1 or 2 additonal bolt from the xbow (taut xbow?? Cant remeber the name).

So we have max 4 bolts with 2x reload speed from the skill rework, if it was 1 second to reload now it is 0.5, much less with nimble reload + passives.
That being said lets say, with the same attack speed, we now shoot 4 bolts in 0.5 seconds but we reload in 0.2 seconds aprox.

Still need some testing but considering the damage boost i'd say it's even better?


After these posts I decided to start a new mercenary (because I had not played one in this league only on the first. I only played the cmapaign.. bt seriously.. up to that point I see no problem. In fact the leveling and campaign were easier with crossbow than with mace and way more fun than with the failure of chayula.
I don’t necessarily have to much of a problem with the change more damage ok but why all bolts are set to one why not have some with 2 etc it’s a bit stupid as it almost makes double barrel on every single skill mandatory which is extremely bad design and defeats the whole point of allowing us to use any support gem. My problem is merc is getting 23 new nodes and they didn’t buff reload speed at all not even 1%. Nothing.
The idea of starting over and watch a guy who should be proficient with a crossbow struggle to reload it makes me want to delete the game.
They should have removed the 15+15+40 reload nodes and baked the 70% reload speed into the crossbow. At the very least, I don’t mind the reload mechanic in theory but in practice it takes more time than it should isn’t fun at all especially early game.
It smooths out more late game but players should not have to slog through the game in the hopes that it will get better it should be smooth from the start and polished at the end.

How do you know that?? i checked only the downside of the tree and still didnt noticed either.

Indeed 3 nodes for reload speed is to much when having to invest in a lot of things.
the funny part is that we Must invest heavily on Reload speed whit gems +nodes + get a crossbow whit high atk speed +base whit high base reload
to then deal whit crossbow not shooting at all , super fun to fight bosses btw
it goes something like that
shot->reload shot->reload shot roll roll.... crossbow get stuck, do a fast Relog to maybe not die during that time xD
yet they insist on keeping reload and even cut galvanic clip size xD
