Please don't lock us out with Rapid Shot
The skills has a unique mechanic where you can just shoot at whatever you want. The "reaching Maximum Heat prevents you from using the skill for 10 seconds" simply kills it. I don't mind any of the other changes(they would actually be buffs) but that one change will make it completely not useable(at least as a main skill). It will be come purely a "setup" skill let us build around I don't know T-T.

The entire stream and the patch notes made me feel feel like GGG is doubling down on unworkable combo-based gameplay. I think 0.3 will fare not much better than 0.2 and people are just blindfolded by async trade.

Holy balls, WHY??
Was there an epidemic of Rapid Shot builds wrecking the economy or 1-tapping bosses that I wasn't aware of? It was already a largely ignored skill with the crippling 800% wind-up, but this objectively makes it far worse. A 10-second downtime on the skill that you cannot mitigate by any means absolutely relegates this to a secondary combo skill (that won't get used) from a primary skill. With max attack speed and gems, I can empty 45 rounds in about 3.5 seconds. So unless I'm watching my ammo count or counting about 3 seconds in my head, I get severely penalized with a 10 second lockout of my ability UNLESS I play the skill as a combo enhancer the way GGG envisions the skill to be used (swap to Incendiary Shot after about 2-3 seconds of Rapid Shot, empty your heat with ~2-3 shots, bounce back to Rapid Shot, etc.) What if *shocker* I don't want to play with Incendiary Shot? Or grenades? What if *second shocker* I enjoy casually running around with a machine gun Platoon-style, just mowing things down? To each their own, yes? In this "sandbox"-ARPG? Why the hell can we not just pick a skill and have fun with it the way we enjoy it? Why do they keep restricting skills by forcing players to play with them the way they want them to? Especially on skills that aren't grossly overpowered? |

" Once again, this philosophy is a guaranteed design failure. Let your players play how they want to play. Some people like no-button Righteous Fire builds. If people want to play that way, let them. Instead of focusing on nerfing "1-button builds", focus on buffing combo builds. |
