Mercenaries should be an optional extra like Animate is, not what gives you defenses and power, which was the case in the league, where if your mercenary died, and this could easily happen, either because you didn’t have them well equipped or for any other reason, you’d lose most of your power and your damage would become miserable. Few builds could say the mercenary was really just an extra source of damage but not necessary, for example, COC Cyclone (Occultist), I didn’t worry about the mercenary, if it died I still dealt damage, I didn’t need it, very few builds could say this, the dependency on the mercenary was absolute. If mercenaries are added to the core they need to be properly balanced, but you already have Animate, which now you can’t even lose the equipment for, do we really need one more minion? A minion witch now gathers an army of golems, skeletons, animate, and now also a mercenary?
