Advertisers on chat
Basically i know that GGG does a fairly good job on baning real life money to game currency traders. However spending just 5mins in the game chat, there are at least 3 advertisement accounts, which means that paying advertisement accounts 15$ a pop is profitable enough to justify running these ads even if they get banned. If so then there are clearly so many bots that generate currency to allow this to happen. This is a giant problem for real gamers. From a GGG perspective, even if they ban these accounts and the traders go ahead and buy new ones, thats a source of income for the company. I would definetly appreciate a non-party league that prevents people from abusing the group play rarity increase. The amount of visual clutter that is in the game it is absolutely impossible to play in an actual enjoyable group play environment. The only people that play in a group are the ones abusing the rarity increase. There can be no reason to play this game in a group other than abusing the rarity/quantity increase.
Personally, i have no problems with real life money to in-game currency trade. I think everyone should be allowed to enjoy the game however they enjoy. The problem im seeing is with the bots and the group rarity increase abusers that inflate the market. If only actual normal players are generating currency and selling this currency to other players this would not be a problem. But if its still profitable to pay 15$ for an account to run 10-20 advertisements on in-game chat, and when you take a look at these websites 20 divines is 3$, then they have to be generating an insane amount of currency. An amount of currency that a regular player simply cannot generate. This is a huuuuuge problem in my eyes. What do you think? Last bumped on Oct 1, 2025, 5:27:49 PM

I don't understand why people are against group all of a sudden.... and than you're for RMT????? Seems ass backwards to me. Like you can do the exact same thing and lots of "regular" players do. Like how do you think people make their currency? Guilds do this as well they just have gear for a rarity bot in the shared stash people can take out to use for a couple maps. Like what is stopping you from joining a group with a rarity bot and juicing maps yourself??? Cause obviously you have problem generating currency for some reason. Do you not know how to talk to people in game? Does your computer suck so juiced maps and group play is off the table?? Do you not know how to do it? Are you just bad at the game so groups don't want you??? honestly what's the reason

" Personally, I'm too lazy to find groups like that and my friends don't play PoE. But then again, I'm not OP and don't complain about this shit. I still made over 100d this league as a solo player. Unless you aim for the 0.01% of builds you don't have to behave like one of the 0.01 and you don't need the funding of a 0.01 |

Well first off, i am bad at the game. Im basically an "average andy" type player, i am currently unemployed and have had time to play a lot this season. I played solo all content and have a fairly strong character and have cleared almost everything in the game. I just have arbiters left. The reason why i am not playing in a group is not because i dont know how to do it. The reason as i have mentioned in my post is the amount of visual clutter in this game doesnt allow for an actual group play function. I dont do it because it is a terrible experience. This is a discussion forum so i kind of wanted to see what people thought.
The thing is people only group up to farm currency or extra drops, which then those farmed currency and items are added to the circulation. I am at a point in the game where the cheapest upgrade to any of my gear is at least 100divines. Obviously instead of buying said gear, i just aim to craft pieces myself. I am confused as to who would buy an item, any item that is being sold for 100+ divines. Because exactly like baconbyte said, you can clear the game easily with like i dont know 10div builds. If i can farm 100s of divines then i wouldnt need the 100+ div item. Which means either people are buying items for their second character, which is completely okay. Or they are using the group farmed currency to do so, which is the problem i am seeing. Guilds also do this, is exactly my point. The only thing you can enjoy group play in this game currently is the extra drops. This hugely effects game economy. Personally i would prefer to play in a non-group league. |

" Probably because it wasn't well known before and now that it's know...they realize it's an exploit and is bad for the economy, pretty obvious no? just the idea of having that rarity bot is enough of a red flag. You could argue it's not but then again, it wouldn't be as populaire. Tech guy Last edited by Warrax#2850 on Sep 27, 2025, 7:34:31 AM

You think the RMT traders are all playing solo? dude there's probably multiple warehouses full of chinese farmers in parties grinding divines right now to sell, but that's okay to you.
The average group players with a rarity bot you see on youtube should not be penalized. |

" Nail on the head really. I like to play solo, in all games, then I can relax and not stress out about breakneck speed and so forth. But either way, it is totally bonkers to me that GGG by design are putting features into the game that actively destabilises the economy of their game by so heavily favouring group play. I just don't get why this would be needed, or even wanted (except by the people who exploit it ofc). This on top of freakin' aura bots and rarity bots, and you have a recipe for disaster. At least if you want a somewhat balanced gameplay experience and game economy for more than the top 1% of the player base. So we probably have our answer there? |

" I'm guessing you're new to POE... this is how the game always worked. They've even nerfed rarity in POE2 since it came out. Like if you're playing solo why do you even care what other ppl do??? I mean if you don't wanna/can't play with other ppl in a multiplayer game you're not going to get the same things as ppl who do. Games have always worked this way. It's like ppl in WOW who complain they can't get raid gear without doing raids. Why are you playing an always online multiplayer focused/trade focused game if those are the things you don't like?? grimdawn/last epoch are great if you want a ARPG's that more balanced around solo play. I honestly never play either of them online |

" Even if people play solo, they still like to trade. The people the others in this thread are describing inflate the economy with what they are doing. Therefore making items out of reach for them if they do not participate in the same behaviour. |
