" So a completely different system where the game sets the price and the economy is not player-driven. Right, you've cracked the code... To make a game that no poe trade player actually wants |

Nah, people already talk about inflation and the real problem right now is the bad performance of the game engine.

If your only reason for playing in a new league instead of standard is the economy reset, it's not worth playing in the new league, and you should just play in standard.
The inflation problem is not some slow ramp up that occurs over the league. It is an immediate exponential skyrocket. Every league, the economy has already been ruined to comical levels by the end of the first week. Maybe the 2nd, if we get lucky. Then it just keeps getting worse and worse, day by day. In the end, playing on current league economically feels just as bad as playing on Standard after but a few days in. Last edited by The_Song#4903 on Sep 29, 2025, 8:42:17 AM

The problems affecting inflation that I see are:
1. Party play multipliers to drops, abused by multiboxers/botters/RMTers 2. Not enough DIV sinks. Very little was added through sanctification. Some was added through merchants (if you buy something from a player that is no longer playing it acts like a sink). Merchants however affects the economy for the worse, since mostly those that are quick to leave the game are those that trade at 1-30 div range. It would be better if that divines went to an active player in that range, allowing him/her to keep the low-to-mid economy going. I strongly think that merchants should become invisible when the player is logged off for more than 2-3 days. 3. Not enough Exalt sinks. Since exalts are the currency you can count on dropping, it needs more sink so that a person can realistically farm exalts to convert higher during the league. Right now 1/4 into the league it's 400ex to a div, which is pretty much at the point of filtering exalts out. And it will become worse after the patch, since you won't spend ex on maps anymore (like 1-2). The map desecration (and item desecration) also lowered exalt sink. IMHO the map desecration should be an alternative to instilling, not an exalt-implicit. It would help the economy AND it would give some alternative to the obnoxious Delirium fog. At the very least it should always act as a chaos orb. 4. High-end crafting mats being way too rare. The cost of high-end gear is directly related to this, so the longer the league goes on the more that gear becomes out-of-reach of players that start later in the season. Seeing as they can't keep up with the market (by not finding anything of real value via playing the game) they feel no incentive to play for long and the game quickly become stagnant.
