0.3.1 Is Awful

Well, the idea was to remove the need to waste hours finding and setting up towers. They did that. Hopefully the feedback they get now is the kick in the butt they needed to scrap the whole endgame "infinite atlas" and design something good.

" Yea, lets instead waste all our time on juicing every single tablet for every single maps one by one. It makes the whole map system completely useless to explore. That update was bad for all the casual players. Searching for a tower was not hard or even long to do at all. Finding the perfect trifecta and juicing all of them was, but only the 0.1% of players aka the streamers and other no life gambler were doing that. " Except you're not juicing every tablet for every map. Tablets last for 10 maps. If you're not getting enough tablets to sustain, then pick up the atlas notable which increases tablet drop quantity. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" Why do you need to mess with the tablets every map? Don't you just put them in and they have like 10-20 uses you don't even have to worry about it. |

Yea you don’t need to shuffle your tablets every two seconds you just leave them in
No idea why anyone is saying “waste time with tablets now” for this update Mash the clean

People who are complaining about needing to retrieve and set your tablets every map, maybe I'm misunderstanding what problem you're having, but there's no reason to do that. You can leave them in, and it'll use whichever slots are open on the next map. If you've got three tablets placed but the next map you put in only has 4 mods, it'll only use the left two tablets, but it won't make you remove the third one; it just won't be used that time.

I like 0.3.1. I like not having to do dozens of maps I don't really care about in order to find and set up a perfect tower zone. I like being able to use tablets to guarantee the mechanics I want to play and then just go. I leave them in for like 6 maps, don't really think about it, then change them out when I want something fresh. I like it.
But I'm still not sold on the infinite atlas in general. It's like Delve from PoE 1, but regions don't have innate mods (this is what they were going for with towers I think) and there's no simple mechanic of lower = harder. In PoE 2's atlas you just kind of wander wherever and it doesn't matter a whole lot. Maybe the atlas could have more contiguous and recognizable biomes, like you see currently surrounding Citadels, and each could have its own randomized mods. |
