Imagine being criticized so much in such a short amount of time but still doing their best to deliver good content and changes and what not.

It's mostly on this forum and a bit on reddit.
Rest of the people i know enjoy the game and dont even read this forum.

Not even talking about all the non english speaker that never came here or on reddit.

They probably know well that this season is a great success.

Most of the people I know (the almost 100 people in the path of exile guild I'm in) generally aren't happy about this update.

Most people I've interacted with in the in game chat generally don't like this update.

It seems that the people that do enjoy this update are the ones that already juiced out all their towers already or people who very occasionally play/know very little about the mechanics of the game.

We just had this big update that supposedly everyone wanted or likes and the player count has already dropped at least 8% according to steam charts (it's not even the weekend and there's a big portion of players that don't even know the game was updated).

I am struggling after this patch and not enjoying myself, but I am happy for those that are. Get your fun where you can!

I have died 7 times between yesterday and today when getting to 96 I had died a total of 57 times and a good chunk of those were messing up sprint early in the game. That is a significant % of deaths over effectively one day's time worth of play. And a nasty gained exp reduction. Maybe I just got worse right as the patch dropped because I am not dying to just bosses. Abyssal feels harder than before. Probably it is always just running a 6 mod where before I would run 6 mods maybe every other map or less. Whenever I got one that didn't add any slowing effects (I make my maps as I need them) as being a warbringer going any slower than I already am feels like playing in molasses.

Glad it is hitting good for others, but I am taking a break. It is actively anti-fun for me right now and to be honest I wasn't loving this league before. Armor, trade and act 4 were all big improvements, but a lot of the things that irk me about the game are still very much there. I needed to upgrade a few more of my weapons in Helldivers 2 anyway.

Fair, I'm sorry to read that you experience such things.
I guess we all play on different levels of gaming.
I don't like to die myself either and always looking to improve myself.

I play softcore but if I die like halfway through the campaign or so, I just delete the char and reroll. That's my personal thing.

And yes I do think especially because you have to play 6 mod maps now when you want the full benefit of your tablets - the game got harder for a group of people.

Whether this is healthy for the game or not, and if they gonna adjust it again for the ones that don't like it..we will have to wait and see.

But GGG cannot 'warn' us upfront for every single thing they are about to patch.

I think every patch has the opportunity to bring challenges and discomfort to a number of players.
But also good things happen. And as for now, I am happy for the good things that happened so far with 0.3 and beyond.

Edit: I hope you can enjoy the game again soon.
Poe 2 back again. New trade system not flawless but still good.

That's less than typical league fallaway at this point in a PoE league. If you compare to PoE1 rate of change (pr previous PoE2 leagues), you'll see the difference.

The update is needed. But it emphasized that there isn't much to do yet besides hunt rares. That's a known problem to be fixed in 0.4. Players who don't want to test the new mechanics in advance of 0.4 can come back then.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

I did not and i'm enjoying.

Not everyone play for "juiced drops". Not everyone watch what other do and what they get out of them maps.

Thoose are having fun. And they know the game very well. And there is a lot of them.

Just a matter of why you play. It's the same in any economy driven game when player only focus on acquiring wealth instead of fun.

8% only disliked it is what i understand. It's not much.

Also no one is forcing no one to do 6 mods maps.
I do 4 personaly and it's all good so far.

but what new mechanics? there ARE no new mechanics.

everything we were doing with towers, are just now on the precursors instead. the values are trash, and less than wat we had... but its the same shit.

what are we testing? how the maps are cut in half? the number of monster packs in maps and extra content being cut in half? the number of monsters itself being cut in half?

are we testing what happens when the game company decided to flip a bunch of switches and completely throw its economy in the trash by completely seperating its playerbase into have and have not, when it comes to DOUBLE JUICED LEGACY ATLAS MAP NODES THAT ARE UNTOUCHED BY ALL OF THE CHANGES?

are we testing stronger bosses? that we could have already done by adding +1 modifer's multiple times to?

are we testing them for the 500th time flipping a switch, and making half of the loot disappear... AGAIN?

are we testing the 66% less cold ground... that doesnt remotely even look and feel close to a 66% reduction.. as we still constantly move threw maps at -30% speed?

are we testing how long shorter maps take, with less monsters, but have the added search time of finding rares/content/loot, because they took icons away?

i have no motivation to test these things further than the 6 hours i already did. (and most already did. and quit because of the results they found like i did) and that is why 8% already left. its not because WELL IT ALWAYS HAPPENS RIGHT NOW IF YOU LOOK...

stop it

NONE OF THESE ARE NEW MECHANICS. they are all switches that got flipped, from one value, to the other. and almost every single value they changed, worsened the player experience.

we left because this patch is terrible. in just about every possible way. and dont want to waste our time.

Same, I did not juice anything upfront for the 0.3.1 update. I mean to be honest, I didn't even think of it. And if I did, well I'd probably be too lazy for that.
I am not one of the 'let's make much profit everyday, every map' type of guys.

I am a bit of both worlds. I wanna have fun and I also wanna have a few good drops every now and then. But I let it happen. I try to not force it.
I get hundreds of divines and then what? Copy a build from youtube and it might work or not and it might be fun or not.

People kind of lose their own potential, by following others all the time.
I think everyone has the capability to think for themselves and create.
Everyone has different goals tho. And see purpose in different things.

And Path of Exile 2 as of its current state, kinda offers a lot.

You can spend your time crafting nice items if that's your thing.

You can run maps like a psychopath(ofexile).

You can just do trades all day long. Well now even offline.

You can do pinnacle bosses.

You can explore the mechanics and come up with fun stuff yourself.

You can just be a casual, which most of the players are I guess, and just do some random bullshit and try to enjoy it. It's not that hard.

The game deserves more love than it gets atm.
Just relax a little. Take a step back. And if you feel like it, come back.
