Listen up. I’ve only got 6,000 hours in this league, so obviously my opinion carries divine authority. I’ve ascended beyond mortal comprehension and therefore every design choice must now revolve around my personal convenience.

Let’s start with this absolute crime you’ve committed: forcing me to move my character. In an ARPG. I can’t believe you expect me to actually walk around a map and find monsters. Are you insane? I should be able to stand perfectly still, press one button, and vaporize everything within three screens. Anything less is an insult to my 6,000-hour résumé.

Also, engagement? Focus? Mechanical skill? What is this, Dark Souls? I play ARPGs specifically so I can watch Netflix, chat with my grandma, and fold laundry while holding down right-click. If I wanted a game that made me pay attention, I wouldn’t be here.

Now you’ve gone and made combat feel... interactive. Disgusting. I have to aim, dodge, and even think about positioning? What is this, a game that wants me to improve? I didn’t sign up for Dark Souls with loot. I came here to turn my brain off and pretend I’m clever because I copied a build off Reddit.


And dying? That’s on you, GGG. Always. Every single death is a direct result of your failed design. My 2.5k HP glass cannon exploding in a juiced T16? Your fault. Lag? Still your fault. Sun in my eyes? Your fault too.

Then there’s your so-called “endgame.” Infinite maps? Exploration? Dynamic progression? Please. Bring back the glory days where I could spam the same empty tile set for 400 hours straight while praying to the RNG gods for one specific drop. That was real content.

Honestly, I can’t believe I’ve endured 50,000 hours of this unplayable disaster. Every single second has been pure torment. Not once have I smiled, enjoyed myself, or felt even a shred of fun.

GGG, fix your game. I demand maximum efficiency with minimum effort. Anything less is a personal attack on me and my godlike time investment.

Real talk? I am amazed at the number of posts revealing that, um, nobody can fight bosses. Since 0.1 they've ignored them.

I thought the folks who couldn't handle ground effects were bad.

It's like when I found out back in the day that all the HC guys were using logout macros and I was the only one ripping characters back to standard.

Now some of the "game is too hard" posts make sense.

Its not mean at all. All day this forum is clogged with the same story over and over and over. 99% of the complaints come down to skill issue and the other 1% are valid critiques of the game.

The people this post was directed at should be pointed at and laughed at. If you are going to critique the game make sure its a valid critique and its not just you suck lol
i havent played the new patch but reading the forums it does sound a lot like people who invest 0 into defense go into juiced t16's and die to a boss.
But idk if thats true or if bosses are actually overtuned

Sometimes i read some pretty insane takes where i just think, i hope ggg never listens to this person.

A few things.

First, many of the bosses have oneshot attacks that don't really care what your defences are except MAYBE top of the line OP-tier shield builds. That's before they also have attack speed, slows, etc from map modifiers. It's inevitable that any player that actually has to play the boss (i.e. not broken damage) is going to get blown up from time to time. So once you're at a level where you need to play a bunch of maps to even get XP progress, you can't afford to be playing any of those. Except you might have to now.

Second, the old boss strength is the new "normal" boss. The "powerful" bosses are stronger than bosses ever were before.

Finally, while I personally would like bosses to be challenging, I'd also like the *rest* of the game to be challenging too. It's really not good for anybody if you can mindlessly mash your way through the entire map and then struggle with the boss. Unfortunately, because of the severe death penalties in the game, making the general content have a reasonable relation to the bosses challenge wise would just make a game where only players abusing broken stuff can progress.

Eh. I've died to lag. I opened a strongbox and the mobs were of a sort not already on the map, so my computer slowed while they were drawn. But it was still my fault. I should have dodge rolled away from the strongbox the way I "always" do and I would have been fine.

People are getting characters to 100 in HCSSF. If you play as though lag is just another debuff, it's possible to die less.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

which bosses can actually oneshot you deep into the endgame? arbiter i guess but is there anyone else? monke hitting me doesnt seem to kill me, lachlan same thing. T2 xesht also doesn't kill me with the hand slam (i'll do T3/T4 this weekend and report back for science). i have 4.5k ES and 1.5k HP and it mostly seems fine? What other bosses have one shots?
seems like everyone is playing low eva deadeye and dont know basic boss mechanics

The game force you to create a build related mainly in defense. Most people go for DPS builds because they've learned on Poe1 zooming. Stop complaining and start with defence....
