XP loss on death

I've played for almost 300h and only noticed that I lose XP when I die. Why do that? Who is the target audience? Hardcore exists for masochists. Let the softcore players just enjoy the game, I play this to relax from real life job, not to prove a point that I'm some kind of cybersport athlete. Uninstalled just because of this

Yep I agree. Its such a weird pointless time-wasting mechanic to put in Softcore of all things. Literally the only reason its there is because some ancient arpgs and mmos had death penalties. No good reason for this mechanic to exist.

You are definitely the target audience for nintendo and all their kid friendly games.

speaking of age, are you even remotely in the age range to remember how actually easy it was to max level a diablo 2 character? despite the death penalty. also, how the death penalty was a non issue because people rarely died to random unpredictable off screen 1 shots, or because the game clarity was leagues better than what is PoE 2.

people like you, DP enjoyers, are why gate keeping communities get bad rep.
XP loss is softcore. Hardcore means character deleted.

explain to me how d2 being easy to level is relevant.

in fact - explain to me why lvl 90 vs lvl 100 in POE2 is dramatically different?

What exactly is your expectation? That you should be allowed to lvl to 100 brainlessly just by throwing time at the problem?

So you want to be rewarded for doing nothing...gotcha.

It's relevant because it has DP, genius. Also, who on earth is asking for a free pass to 100? even without DP it's a an endless slog for anyone but the permanently online.
Love the gaslighting. Virtues of a true troll.

They believe xp loss helps to retain the players. Not all players, but generally it works for some. Specifically saying for those whose time valuabality is equal to zero. And if not they, then no one at all would be playing the game after a month in league. You delete the game it's ok, not just you. See you next league.

ffs the dude saying about level 100 as about the reward. Just leave him alone, obvious it's not something he can get.
I have a question to OP. If you want to lets say be a black belt in karate, just buy one on ebay and there you go, you are a black belt in karate.

You don't realize it, but this is what you are asking the GGG devs to do.

To get to level 100, it has to mean something and it means you had to work hard to get it.
