XP loss on death

Well, it's not for unskilled and unwilling to challange - that's what I can tell at least.

I have a question to OP. If you want to lets say be a black belt in karate, just buy one on ebay and there you go, you are a black belt in karate.

You don't realize it, but this is what you are asking the GGG devs to do.

To get to level 100, it has to mean something and it means you had to work hard to get it.

Not really. Since when video games are "work?". In D3, greater rifts existed to compete, for the guys that want to work in a game for whatever reason, this is probably equivalent of lvl100 you are talking about. In POE2 there is no competitive content, and to complete the endgame you must put great amount of time, and XP loss only makes it worse. I play POE2 not because it's "hard" (time consuming essentially), but because killing monsters feels much better than current Diablo. It attracted me with this as a casual player, but I can't stay as casual, because the endgame requires too much to have fun. If people like me are not the target audience (at least meaningful part of it), then I understand what GGG are doing, then it's completely OK
