Rogue exiles are cool, but..

You're in a world full of monsters, demons, undead beings and then suddenly you see that there's a guy in the same situation as you, or at least similar. This is cool, it makes the world feel alive, as it should be

Although it's an interesting concept, the whole rogue exiles mechanic could be expanded a lot more as right now it feels very simplistic. Since 0.4 will be the end game update, it could be a good time to revisit them

Here are some ideas:

- Let me see who I just defeated instead of creating a loot pinata that I just pop, sometimes before they can even do anything. Maybe spawn a ghost or something similar after they're defeated

- Give me a bit more lore, it doesn't have to be anything too deep. As said above, letting me see who I just defeated could make some encounters more meaningful in some way. Perhaps giving them factions with a tag (bandit sorcerer, bandit acolyte etc instead of just random names), expanding their personalities, giving them purposes

- Make some stronger rogues that rarely spawn, boss tier (not necessarily due to their gear scaling)

- Some encounters with multiple rogues instead of them being solo. Perhaps some little encounters where two or three of them are sitting around a bonfire for example. Two rogues spawn and fight each other, things like that

- Unique maps exclusively with rogues like a stronghold of a certain faction. Of course, loot would have to be adjusted accordingly

Those are just some ideas. I just would like them to get some love because as said before, the mechanic has a lot of potential to be expanded in my opinion

Path of Exile has a lot of what you've described so I don't see why they couldn't do that.

There's giant Rogue Exiles that split into progressively smaller Exiles, and they can be Possessed which gives them certain abilities and boosted IIR. You can encounter over 20 in a map if you specialize into Exiles and get lucky with a roll from a Notable on the Atlas tree.

They're a great farming strategy in the first game.

I did play a bit of poe1 end game, but honestly didn't see them. In any case, since all of that already exists, maybe it's already in GGG's plans to revisit the mechanic
We'll get the whole betrayal/syndicate system in POE2 eventually, but it might be a couple years away.

Pretty much every core system in POE1 will make its way over eventually in some form.
Wouldn’t it be more interesting that instead rouge exile we have crossmap exile that like a pvp chance that you walk cross another player and killing them will drop their items XDDD

Been trying to cook something like this up for a while but everyone on forums disrespects pvp pretty much in my posts. As if the top 10 best selling games of all time aren’t 9:10 PvP.

Giving people what they want is hard when the loud minority represents the 1:10

And before anyone says so few people play PvP. Sure but because PvP exists a new market for different bis items exist which makes everyone profit.

This is literally old proven Diablo 2 logic lol.

The whole dropping some of your items would be cool as like a runescape type thing. Where if you skulled up you risking everything.

Imo pvp would only work in poe2 if we had a default gear like for example in guild wars pvp. Other than that, I don't think it would work at all, unless what you expect is something for fun and not really a competitive mode

Wrong. You’d rather PvP have no advantage to people who have been playing the game longer. If you feel like making your opinion known, don’t mask the reasoning.

If they make PvP so that your time invested benefits you 0%, 0% will play. Great design for PvP if your goal is to have as few players as possible. Your variant of PvP turns it into a dice rolling simulator. No skill or thought required. There would be no build diversity under your pvp flagship.

I have probably 500+ hours this season so you can take a guess how much my stuff is worth. There's not many who would have as much advantage as me in your world where gear is what matters lol

You're the one advocating for pvp, not me... I would rather not have it since I don't think it works for games like poe2 where there's obviously no balance for pvp. Legit no idea what you mean by no skill or thought required tho. Default gear means you get a set amount of points to spend on levels and choose gear with stats that are equal in value

Rouge exiles should have a chance to drop a note with a hit put out on you from one of three potential groups of rouge exiles u can use note to go to their hideout where youll find nothing but rouge exiles instead of monsters with a bigger badder exile crime boss at the end you get to keep the hideout for your own earning a rare in game hideout n tons of loot.
