Mark (Neon) Roberts - We need the OG character select back!
The ambiance, the mood, the vibe has never been the same since the Oriath character select.
The original better represented the dark, unforgiving nature of the game. ![]() We're being exiled. Thrown off a ship to our demise. The grim, almost-claustrophobic ship scene reflected that perfectly (although, perhaps it could use visual updates). Poe 2's character select embodies those core thematic elements of PoE we've come to love. It's bleak, cold and heartless. The original in Poe1 was the same. It is a more authentic and immersive first impression of the game, and we need it back! Last edited by Quest27#4670 on Oct 12, 2025, 3:57:44 PM Last bumped on Oct 21, 2025, 2:55:42 PM

I miss the original character select, too! And the voice lines done by each character!
Softcore, solo self-found.

i think most people dont even know we got shipwrecked since theres no cutscene and most people are more visual creatures.
most of us already understand what happens in the beginning. tho it would be cool if we had more context and show that we got shipwrecked, it would cost GGG a lot of money. if they wanted to do so, they would have done so a long time ago. so i guess in the matters of getting a shipwreck cutscene or more context to the ship being wrecked, the ship has sailed [Removed by Support]
