[FEEDBACK/QUESTION] Why not do more frequent smaller nerfs/buffs?
|
Mid league nerfs aernt popular of course, hear me out,
What if GGG nerfed the over proforming skills only by a miniscule amount like 0.5% and buff under proforming skills by the same amount each week till things are more balanced this way each nerf wont be felt much and each buff wont jack a skill to the moon suddenly. Why would this not work? Last bumped on Nov 23, 2025, 11:47:06 AM

GGG: Makes something .01% worse mid league.
The community: Riots, pitchforks, fires, chanting "NFARPG" (No fun allowed rpg), flipped cars, toppled buildings, and in the distance, sirens. |

Sounds like free advertising to me.

I think.. GGG is to scared to deal with a raging casuals, which copying build from internet and doesn't understand the game at all.
For now: all leagues was destroyed by 1 to 2 to strong builds. For me: it's EA and they should do agressive buff/nerf methodology while allowing us to easier respec and that's all. No one will scream around while he will know how they deal with broken abilities like Lightning spear of 0.2... Another brilliant 0 synergy, one skill button build. agressive balance fixes during EA is best thing that can happen to poe 2 i think. also i guess they have issue with "Data collection". While players whom have fun - stay silent and just play. Unsatified annoyed players - goes to forum and spam posts. So data analyst people who collect feedback have more feedback from negative than positive aspects. Last edited by saashaa#5518 on Nov 22, 2025, 4:42:35 PM

SSF
This is a high school lesson. Everyone isn't going to like you. Game health will skyrocket if they do many small tweaks. Feedback will be far more useful as well. Even doing multiple modifications at once can make data garbage. You have to be able to see and discern possible cross contamination. Which is quite complicated in this game to put it lightly. Small quick adjustments are the only way to go. Especially for solving complex issues. I'll tell you what is worse. Not doing it and people quitting the game. These sorts of quick adjustments can effect far more than balance. You can hotfix qol things, anything. Just do it on a whim. Oh currency drops are too low in ssf, ok we're tuning it up x. Of course that depends on how its coded. If its coded right, thats a one adjustment move. Its not a big deal and it makes us feel like they want the game to be good. Every adjustment is like they are hearing us. They can make a list of priorities so we know when its coming up. They could do so many easy awesome things to improve interaction and make a better game. Its honestly kinda troll. |

Frequent buffs ok.
Nerfs no. |

All game tuning - buffs, nerfs, bugfixes, encounter revamps - should be implemented as soon as an issue is identified and in a League-agnostic manner.

" Lol yea but in all fairness that cast on freeze mid league nerf was with a sledgehammer not a .01%. All jokes aside... This is something I have said several times... New league should be new content with nerfs and rebalances Mid league should be purely buffs So in a 4 month cycle you would have new content with nerfs, then 2 months later buffs for all the low played/performing stuff. Then 2 months after that new content with nerfs. That way no mid league build destroying nerfs that piss people off and if they over buff something mid league its only 2 months of OP instead of 4. This would be the perfect way to handle it IMO with the least amount of impact on active players having builds gutted after investment but also not allowing it to be 4 straight months of the same builds. |

" Stop and think for a second and imagine the end result. If something gets nerfed, and you can't use your build, and your gear, what will you do? Start again from zero? Which is equal to joining mid league. Or quit playing poe and move to something that doesn't force you out of the league. This is equal to deleting your character. GGG knows this well. And mid league nerds never happens. Why would GGG kick players from their own game. Zero sense to do it... |

" Adapt. " Think of it as another F R E S H. " This is needlessly dramatic. Besides, don't league players enjoy losing all their progress anyway? " Except for all the times it's already happened . . . Last edited by LeFlesh#9979 on Nov 22, 2025, 10:10:48 PM
