Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm charge consumption doesn't work anymore

Is it just the AOE that's bugged? or is it both aoe and damage scaling that's not working?

Neither does work. Baby slams that deal no damage.
So I've actually continued playing on my Tectonic Slam character, and I've noticed that my damage IS actually scaling with endurance charges. When I attack a boss with a 7-charge slam, the damage is consistently more than double what it would be without charges.

Moreover, I'm noticing that charge-powered slams kill enemies farther away compared to unpowered slams, even though the AoE VISUALLY APPEARS UNCHANGED. On my screen, it looks as if the enemies get hit by an invisible force and drop dead.

This bug report post is saying something similar: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3872811

I don't think this bug has to do with faulty charge scaling. Rather, I think this is a graphical issue where the AoE graphics asset isn't loading properly.

That would explain why GGG has remained silent on a fix even into 3.27.0d. There are other nontrivial graphical bugs being reported, such as infinite loading screens, shader issues, and bosses killing you due to invisible AoE. I think this issue is one of the nontrivial graphical bugs.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or have other people done the same experiments I have and can confirm that damage and AoE don't scale?

I can 100% guarantee that Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm is not doing more damage. I swapped to Echoes with 5 Exerts and TSoC at the same time and ran two Oshabis back to back for testing. The Damage should have roughly quadrupled, but it stayed the same. Echoes clearly works though, since it chunks my life when testing w/o Endurance Charges.

Normal Tectonic Slam works fine, afaik.

it's doing a fraction of the damage it did last league
concerned bump
bumper
Looking at other threads, it may be that for some people the bug is purely visual, while for others the damage is decreased as well.

GGG's silence on a fix for a broken skill almost 1 month into the league is extremely concerning.

Bump...for what good it'll do.
Since there is no visual evidence yet, I decided to abuse the Infinite Hunger as a target dummy and recorded it. Normal Tec Slam is Celestial, Cataclysm is vanilla. If anyone wants to check my PoB, the latter should deal about triple damage, but there is hardly a difference, if any. Link to the Video

Overall it feels like Cataclysm is just normal Tec Slam atm, but sacs all your charges as well...

PoB of the Build

Great stuff, Xolrosch. Your video gives terrific insight into what's going on.

From 1:00 - 1:30, your 11-charge slams do as much damage and AoE as your 1-charge slams. This is undeniable.

From 2:10 - 2:20, you remove your "Gaunt Caress Battering Uulgraft" which has the "Return to Dust" implicit ability.

At 3:00 and 3:20, you hit Infinite Hunger with another 11-charge slam. The damage and AoE are significantly larger compared to the 1-charge slam you hit him with at 3:18.

Is it possible that grafts are breaking Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm's charge consumption?

For added context, I play in Standard League, so I've never used grafts. Is it possible that, if grafts are never used on a character, tectonic slam of cataclysm has a visual bug where the increased AoE is invisible?

Tl;dr: The video shows that grafts break Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm's charge consumption. Charge consumption is restored when grafts are removed. For characters who've never used grafts, Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm's charge consumption works but the added AoE is invisible.
