SHOULD pvp be introduced in POE2?

To be clear you think it’s in your own best interest for there to be no PvP development. That is your stance?
I try imagining how runescape would have faired long term with no PvP. Thankfully even if I don’t get PvP in poe2 I get something, because so many people don’t see what PvP can add to the game we can watch what happens when you do the “Tropic Thunder” move. I’ll be able to observe what happens if runescape doesn’t add PvP in realtime. It’s gonna be fun for me eitherway boys. While you all foam at the mouth for druid ascendancy nodes that will get nerfed I am looking years into the future. You’ll catch up someday. RuneScape and poe really aren’t that different. I guess the biggest glaring difference is RuneScape PvP is successful. But hey, you guys can PvM almost as many ways as in RuneScape so 🫶 RuneScape is a masterclass on game design by itself. you just have to avoid its mistakes. “In all the realms of heaven and in all the realms of hell I alone am heralded as the honored one, who am I?” Last edited by Lore#3772 on Dec 11, 2025, 7:13:25 PM

Some form of competitive aspect could be interesting and maybe even make leagues have better retention (just maybe). Doesn't have to be 1v1 duels because the game is not well balanced for that in my opinion.
But there could be other options: Idea 1: MOBA style mode where we go with our character with no items. Just the passive tree (since this would mean the same power level for all players, just different distribution). The combat could be some variation of the Trials of the Ancestors but with all players vs players (no bots/NPCs), and once we join we choose a handful of skills for our "kit". Or maybe we choose roles to fill with an already predetermined set of skills. Idea 2: Maybe we could train gladiators just like we acquired mercenaries in the previous PoE1 league and then send them join different game modes or tournaments vs other players' gladiators. It's just ideas for fun. I think it's super early for the devs to think about PvP anyway. |

Rather than do all that they could just work with assets they already have.
There’s no reason almost every unique can’t be in PvP. The idea behind Smurf friendly content is that there is a learning curve that is easy to enter at the bottom. Considering how crafting works in poe2 making BIS items for a character that has only the max level possible from act 1 isn’t difficult in comparison to actual end game BIS crafting. It’s okay for things to not be balanced everywhere across all the tiers. What’s not acceptable is one super duper over performer one shot build in that specific content type. Thats where unique bans come in 🫶 “In all the realms of heaven and in all the realms of hell I alone am heralded as the honored one, who am I?” Last edited by Lore#3772 on Dec 11, 2025, 10:13:07 PM
