I don't understand why Charges in poe2 have a duration
|
They're not buffs.
It seems more healthy to me to just remove the charges when you enter a boss fight. They're meant to be harder to generate on a boss by design but you don't even do this. Instead we're left with this incentive to generate easy charges prior to a boss then hurry in before the duration expires, which even feels cheesy. Same reason your phone-battery isn't at 100% when you don't use it.

" That doesn't make sense at all.Must you constantly defend poor decisions? |

If you could bring charges from mapping to boss and then one-shot boss with usage of these charges, that gives you quite a bit freedom from necessity of building charges on the boss, which most of the time is different to what you use on mapping.
Boss early protection won't change it, as you can just wait it out. |

" Sure it does, don't you understand how batteries work? Like this gem of yours, which btw. still isn't true, at all: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3884074/page/1#p26466621 |

agreed. They don't give buffs. If they just stacked up until used it would feel a lot better.
Builds that aren't on the top right of the tree feel awful to use charges on. |

Almost a year ago, I made a post about how poorly designed the charge system is in PoE 2.
When you have completely ruined skills, like Flicker Strike, you can never keep your charges active; that's poor development. The most practical and objective solution is to create a modifier in rings or amulets that gives a minimum of 1 charge. They always fail and never manage to make something 100% functional. I was going to create a Flicker Strike, but when I saw how charges are generated, I gave up. |
|
" I think the problem with that mindset is they dont WANT you to be able to use 1 skill effectively. They want you to solve a rubix cube before using your "payoff" skill. Then lightning arrow exists and your just left wondering. Why do they get to have fun and other archetypes dont. |

Charges should definitely not expire since they do not have any sort of buff in this game. If they decide to add the buffs on charges like poe 1 I could understand them expiring. I think they should definitely expire between zones and entering boss areas though as the game is balanced around generating charges during boss fights.
